Internet Explorer Slowing Down Dramatically

Bad news for those still sticking with Internet Explorer - recent security patches have slowed the browser significantly, and the browser was already much slower than competing browsers. After a recent patch, performance dropped a whopping 42% on Windows 7, and 38% on Windows XP. Now may definitely be a time to look into alternatives.

Just today the IT guy at work was bragging that IE8 is faster than FF 3.5. Guess he hasn't tried it lately.

This may be true but I find that Firefox still takes quite a bit longer to load up when starting the program, IE is quite faster starting up.

Of course it is going to load faster, it is part of the OS - but that is not particularly useful if once it loads, it is slower than any other browser at displaying pages and processing javascript. The latest beta of Firefox loads faster than previous releases. I always have Firefox open, so the fact that it takes a few extra seconds to load initially is nothing.
