Which Web Browser Do You Use and Why?

Which web browser do you use primarily, and why?

I use Firefox, and every once in a great while IE8. I've tried Chrome and want to like it, but it is too bare bones and not customizeable enough for my tastes. Safari is just irritating, like most Apple software on Windows, and Opera is just a bit too esoteric for me. The level of customization that Firefox offers is unmatched by any other browser, and that is important to me.

I use Firefox 3.5.1 with various addons and IE 7.

I've found that een with the addons for Firefox, some sites just work better with IE 7. It's not so much a problem for personal stuff but a lot of sites I go to for work are best with IE.

Firefox. Why? I'm on Ubuntu over 99% of the time.

Why not Chrome? Haven't gotten around to trying it again (first tried it on Windows)

IE? Only if I fucking have to, or if I'm too lazy to transfer an old bookmark. I really don't trust Microshit anymore.

You know that there is an IE tab plugin for Firefox, right? I use it for certain sites also that render better in IE, without the need to switch browsers.

I do, but I've had issues with it. Some it seems to work fine with, others it doesn't.

Safari. Why? Because that's what came with my Mac and it works fine for browsing SLU which is what matters to me.

Firefox most of the time. Internet Explorer when I know the site does not work with Firefox. And yes I need to configure the IE options for Firefox I suppose. Also Firefox seems to crash a lot on my computers due to upgrades in the tools I add. So it is good to have IE to download a new copy of Firefox.

Chrome's big feature for me is its speed. If I want to view a page, I don't want to wait for 60 seconds to startup the program (which is about how long subjectively it takes for Firefox to load, IMHO) I only use Firefox when a page specifically gives me trouble in viewing...and use the IE emulator add-on when a page requires IE.

Course, work's a different story...There you use IE, and YOU LIKE IT!

Firefox.
I always used to use IE (creature of habit that I am) but after some problem or other (with video online I think) Carth persuaded me to give FF a try and I never looked back. It is faster and I love the ability to cutomise. I can set it up how I want it and am so used to it now that on the occasions I have had to fire up IE it seems clunky and old.

Firefox...I just like it.

I occasionally have to get into IE it at work, because our bank's site has one function which isn't accessible on other browsers

Chrome.

Firefox for Plurk, as it seems to suit it better for some reason.

I find this weird. Chrome was conceived to be a killer in Javascript execution.

I am on a Mac right now and I still could not bear to use Safari - I immediately downloaded Firefox. One thing that annoyed me in Firefox on the Mac is that the favicons do not show on the toolbar - but I found an addon to fix that.

Firefox, across all platforms

I use Firefox across all platforms, primarily for the consistency of experience and its flexibility in customisation.

I find it funny because Google was focusing on killer performance for Javascript. Plurk runs on Javascript therefore theoretically it should perform better on Chrome than Firefox.

Yeah, I find the load time for Firefox to be a bit too long. IE comes up a lot faster.

I actually have them all on my machine, but my primary browser is Chrome. When I want to use Stumbleupon, I fire up Firefox. Rarely use the others unless I have a specific need to (i.e., to see what my site looks like in them or whatever).

Firefox. Because it's fast (for me) and easy to use, and I don't think I even use half of its capabilities with bookmarks, add-ons etc.

I used the AOL browser for ages (yes, I know, I know ) and would groan when people told me to download Firefox. Whoops.

98.5% of my time, at home, is spent on Firefox. Simply because it allows me more freedom than the other two browsers on my machine; Chrome and IE. If/When Chrome gets to be as customizable as Firefox I can see that switching, though.

At work it's about a 50-50 split between Firefox and IE. My IT department is a Micro$oft shop so many of our things have to be done on IE due to how our internal network functions. I have Chrome on my work PC, but due to internal network restrictions it is a pain to use at work.

I mainly use Firefox, but ever since 3.5 came out, i've had issues with youtube videos not working and occasionally I won't see pics that are posted. So, I generally use chrome for youtube and other sites that use a lot of embedded video. I'll also use Safari occasionally when I'm on the macbook.

Firefox 3.5. There is no better browser out there.

Unfortunately, I'm also forced to use IE at work from time to time, but only use it if I'm accessing a resource that requires me to (Microsoft CRM, Sharepoint, VirtualServer, etc).

If I'm designing a web site, though, I'll look at the site in Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome and IE. From a web designer standpoint I absolutely despise IE.

Firefox mostly.

Opera -- for school website (convenience of a separate set of bookmarks)

IE -- when bad website coding makes buttons not work in Firefox, or I want to use "live" update sites for drivers.

Konquerer when using my Linux box.
