Carl Sagan Sings: Beautiful Tribute Vid

The best video I've seen in months.

Particularly if you grew up watching Cosmos.

RIP Carl, I still hope you're enjoying your fabulous journey.

As a child, I was immensely inspired by Carl Sagan. I remember pleading with my foster parents - I was perhaps twelve at the time - to buy me my first Sagan book, Murmurs of Earth, which was his documentary about the the Voyager Interstellar Record. Many more books were to follow, from Cosmos to Dragons of Eden, Contact and Pale Blue Dot. I think what excited me most about Sagan wasn't that he made science popular and easy to understand, but that he had an incredible passion for exploration, an unstoppable imagination and belief that we are not alone in the universe, and a deep recognition that man's fate depends entirely upon understanding the cosmos and the preservation of our Earth. I was deeply upset the day he died and I always felt he had more inspiring to do.

I <3 Carl. He was one of those rare beings who could successfully articulate the poetry and beauty of a rational universe.
