I can't help but feel a little weird about this one.

The pics are interesting though, look at their reactions:

Just look at them! They were SOOO ready to take that plane down with their bows and arrows. Apparently there had been *no* modern contact with this tribe, ever - they're kind of operating on their own out there.

My mother was rather upset about this though. "God, humans can't leave well enough alone, can they?" I agree with her in part, but it's just so WEIRD to think there's people out there who have never met a "modern" human being.

I think it's great *modern* man hasn't totally raped the planet. A agree wth your mom - leave these people alone. I'm sure they're quite happy with their lot. They don't need anyone coming in and corrupting their lifestyle and traditions.

There was a similar incident a couple of years ago over North Sentinel Island.

I noticed in the Times article that there is believed to be over 100 'uncontacted' tribes around the world.

Ofcourse now that they've seen a massive metal bird this could be the impetus for them to explore and find out where it came from.

I can't wrap my mind around one group that never had any modern contact (or that this would be the first time that an airplane happened to fly overhead), much less 100 of them.

Can't go along with you there, friend...being a man of and in my own times. The list of what I would miss would be quite long, starting with indoor plumbing and ending up somewhere around chocolate chip ice cream
