Christmas Cookies! Cream Cheese Logs

It depends, but allow for 2 hours to chill the dough after you prepare it.

I have no idea, I double the recipe and it makes an assload of cookies. :D
Description
These are probably my favorite Christmas cookies.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 4 oz semi sweet chocolate morsels
  • chocolate sprinkles
Preparation
  1. Soften the butter and cream cheese before starting.
  2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees after refrigerating the dough for 2 hours.
Instructions
  1. Cream butter, sugar, salt, sugar and cream cheese til fluffy. Beat in egg yolk.
  2. Stir in the flour and walnuts.
  3. Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours.
  4. Shape the dough into logs.
  5. Place the logs on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Don't overbake.
  6. Allow the logs to cool, then melt the chocolate in the microwave or using a double boiler. Dip the ends of the logs into the melted chocolate, then into the sprinkles. Allow the chocolate to harden before storing.

Christmas Cookies! Cream Cheese Logs

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup chopped pecans
* 1/2 cup green sugar crystals
* 1/2 cup red sugar crystals
* 1 cup pecan halves

DIRECTIONS

1. Cream together the butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
2. Combine the flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chopped pecans. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
3. On four sheets of aluminum foil, shape dough into four 6 inch rolls, 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap each roll tightly in foil and refrigerate over night.
4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Line cookie sheets with foil. Remove rolls of dough from refrigerator one at a time. Coat each roll with red or green sugar crystals; cut dough into 1/4 inch slices.
5. Place on prepared cookie sheets; top each cookie with a pecan half. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until bottom of cookie is lightly browned when lifted.

Never had these but they sound great. Cheese cake/cream cheese desserts are my biggest food weakness.

These cookies are buttery and cream cheesy and tender and sweet. Simply orgasmic.

They're also fun to make with your kids. Just skip the orgasmic part.
