Dead End City

So the past week or so, I've been working on and off with a build partner on recreating the city of Dead End (Dead End Role-Play Community in Second Life) from scratch as I plan to move it.

The city itself is based on forced fantasy, BDSM, and "seedy life" urban role-play. Much different than its sister community, the Crack Den, the city has tall skylines, cramped streets, multi-level streets, drowned in darkness, and an overall -very- surreal / eerie feel...

From shadowing, desaturated textures/skyline, to the quick rolling clouds covering the sky, this has been a really fun build. Only at about 3k prims, still have the swamp, woods, proper industrial docks, and a whole lot of interiors to do!

The city has a lot of public RP at the street level, with residential units in the building. Anywho, I'll just post pics of the work so far ... should be done by the weekend

(thanks Aki for the realistic designed car!)

I need some help! I'm trying to design 2-3 more interesting floor layouts for either studio or apartment... anyone live in one in RL that can share blueprint/layout on the web if available?

Although everyone in the past seems to have made hideous, obvious rental boxes you might try something different. Disguise them as stacks of newspaper...

Old boxes...

Or other objects you might find in unused buildings.

thanks for the suggestion tess! I like the newspaper idea a lot; some of them were going to be crates ... or just realistic looking "for rent" signs. Definitely not the stock hipporent textures!

I'll post a pic of what I end up with.
