WIP Primouth

Here is a new car I'm currently working on. It's all Primouth but is based on a 1949 Mercury. It is almost exclusively made out of sculpts. At this stage it is about 56 prims. I use AC3D software for the sculpties.

I love doing detail on my cars which makes them very high prim, which some like and some don't. I'm still learning the 3d software and hoping as I learn more my cars can still be fully detailed but less prim intensive. But for now I still am not willing to sacrifice 3d detail for flat testures. There are many top notch car makers out there that can do miracles with textures but it just isn't my cup o' tea.

Here is a picture of my Caddy I recently finished. This guy is 210 prims and MUCH blood, sweat and tears. Again 95% sculpts.

Love your high prim cars and and how the car is there, almost immediately, as opposed to scuplty cars that take days to rez.

New car? neat (even if sculpty used, heh). *drools*

"how the car is there, almost immediately, as opposed to scuplty cars that take days to rez."

This is an excellent question and a mystery to me. I've seen some sculptie cars that almost never fully rez for me. For some reason mine take anywhere from 10 seconds to 1 minute ( on a bad SL day).
I've driven that Cadillac around the grid in many different sims and it pretty much rezzes quickly everywhere. Maybe it's the 3d program that is being used to create the sculpties I honestly have no clue at all.

And I am in talks with that walrus right now, a few more fish per week and I'll have a new mascot!

Ah the Beatles. Yes it had to be done.

LOL That dancing walrus is wrong on so many levels. To a Michael Jackson song makes it even worse.

But maybe a chorus line of walruseses getting down to some good show tunes would be the ticket. Hmmmmmm.......

On a serious note:

Gorgeous cars! Sculpt the wheels! Sculpt the wheels for ultimate awesome!

The following in a non-serious note:

Add wheel spinners, hydraulics, neon lightbars, and lots and lots of speakers in the trunk!

Thank you for the compliments! and yes sculpted wheels are on the menu but I need to learn more more about the texturing before I can it. As far as wheel spinners, hydralics, funky lights, etc.. not my cup 'o tea. I like the original designers ideas - stock from the factory. I would love it if people could customize the cars themselves but thanks to the script perms that seems impossible now.

LOL if it don't fit you must rescript!
