No wait, he says drat, drat and double drat. My mistake. Sorry.

Only honesty keeps me from listing such a "slashfic of skill sets" on my CV.
Dabbling is not the same as deep experience.

I had to guess on the semicolon one too, and guessed wrong - that's why I only had 15/16...

14/16...

Semicolon got me, because i didn't get what they were asking for, although i know how to use it! (mostly never).

Speaking of grammar however, not every company uses the typesetter to proofread.

If you are typesetting books, most often it's someone else that proofreads, sometimes the author him/herself, although imo that's stupid. Bigger companies can afford a full-time proofreader, or have the proofreader share other tasks. Where i worked once, the receptionist was also the proofreader.
The typesetters were doing layout and photo correction.

Sadly, proofreading has been largely replaced by spell-check built into software. It gets extremely obvious in some newspapers.

Anyhow, what i wanted to say is that it's not always crystal clear who gets to proofread, it depends on the company, the material and material volumes.

Depends on the service.

Typesetting is different from Proof reading and copy editing as well.
Most decent companies have checks and double checks put in place to verify that edits have been done correctly. They have a proof read department that is different from the typesetter.
So the typesetter would receive the MS in word or any number of formats (PDF, XML, wordperfect, rtf, tex) they convert the MS to something they can page. most common now is Indesign.
But several systems have been used (Miles, Penta, 3b2, Latex, Quark, telos)
The Typesetter makes sure that the book and design follow the clients style rules for bad breaks , (HandJs), If they can go short or long, feather or card.
The do this for the entire MS also they make sure the book meets the clients specified cast off.
They then provide the client with proofs. The client then sends the proofs back with edits, they can be Author Edits, copy editor edits, or Mistakes the Typesetter made. At this pass typesetters will charge the Author and copy editor edits back to the client. So it is in the best interest in the typesetter to make sure there mistakes are the lowest.
Then this can go back and forth till the client is satisfied with the Proofs.
Then the Typesetter then produces a PDF that will go to the Printer.
Some typesetting places also will produce a final XML and Epub for the client to have as well.

Many University press's are cutting down the in house staff because of budgets. So they are finding that in house copy-editing and typesetting is not cost efficient since many Publishing Services houses are able to provide the whole package to them cheaper from copy editing to typesetting to XML/epub.
