context matters. bullshit hyperbole that is not only a personal squabble but bears no relation to the inference you are trying to draw not only doesn't matter by itself, but also points out your pathetic "me too!" attitude. congratulations on making yourself look like a fuckwit yet again, but you'll need to try harder if you want to top the self referential irony I saved in my sig line.

If it encourages anyone, the betting world is rarely wrong, and Obama is significantly leading as the favorite.

US Presidential Election odds | Specials odds | BetBrain.com :Sports Betting Odds
https://sb.ladbrokes.com/Ladbrokes/m...locale=en_GB#5

Romney was ahead for awhile back in June, then Obama started picking up and after the conventions Obama flew ahead. Right now, many odds are around +200-Ish for Romney and -270 to -300 for Obama.

(The sign in front of the number indicates whether placing a wager on that outcome will pay out more money then you have wagered or less money then you have wagered. If the odd is negative (-) it means that outcome is more likely to happen and placing a bet on that outcome would payout less than the amount you wagered, while a positive (+) odd shows that the outcome is less likely to happen and it would pay out more than the amount you wagered.)

The more Romney opens his mouth, the less people want him to run the country. It's good he likes to yap so much.

I read today that according to 2 or 3 different polls, Obama has pulled even further ahead in Ohio, for one. It was 5 points ahead 2 days ago, today he is 7 points ahead. He's also slightly increased the lead he already had in Florida and Virginia.

I am disappointed as an Aussie I haven't come across the term twat more often, it's supposed to be an Aussie thing taken from the English or something, so why have I not been hearing more people say it?

No, Joshua, not calling you a liar, I possibly don't get out enough.

I failed to even care Joshua called someone a twat, do I get my feminism membership revoked?

That's got to be one of the most fucking stupid and bullshit things you've said about Joshua!

Of course this coming from someone who downplayed sexual assault by saying you'd been groped heaps of times back in the day makes you hardly one to talk!

During the Republican primaries, I was horrified when I noticed the long line of fundie bigots that seemed to have an actual following. Just the idea that Rick Santorum won the primaries that he did causes me to seriously contemplate moving across the ocean. However, when I first researched Romney's record in Massachusetts, he seemed like a sane moderate. At that time, I felt that he could be taken seriously as a presidential candidate that wouldn't be on a mission to increase the disenfranchisement of minorties.

Of course, it didn't take long to notice that he was willing to hitch his wagon to the fundies to win the Presidency. It became increasingly obvious to me that he sold his soul and principles so that he could benefit from the bigoted FOX News style propaganda/fearmongering that has polluted the airwaves the last four years. The last straw was his choice of Ryan for the vice president position. Honestly, I don't feel that he can be trusted to protect the rights of any group that the fundies want to marginalize and/or destroy (e.g. women, gays, non-whites, non-Christians, etc.)

You're a deliberate contrarian. Worth one post noting such but not much more. Joshua is a kind, sweet, person and anyone examining the respective posting histories can see just exactly what you're about in nearly every thread you post.

Thanks. I apologise for the word choice; not because I intended it in a manner that was degenerative of women or had anything to do with ladyparts, but because it was an unhelpful word to use given the differences in how it's employed here vs the US.

Eboni is full of shit and bile as usual, but Cristiano has asked for this to stay on track so I won't bother saying more than that.

whether Joshua has respect for women is besides the point, since you've made it clear in the past that you don't... those who live in glass houses and all that. You were just trying to stir the pot, bluff called.

I get all that, but you give the President way more power than I do.

I dunno, there's going to be about a dozen or so positions on my ballot that I see as more important than the presidency. If we've gotten to the point that a president can make the world a living hell, or make it Shangri Lah, then we've really screwed the pooch and need to fix it.

Whether the prez has as much power as that or not, most people will just assume they do, how many look into who are the people behind the throne so to speak, have power and influence but not in such an obvious fashion?

It's not Romney himself, it's the people in his party who will be using him as a rubber stamp to get all that stuff passed without struggle.

However there would still be many under the illusion he would have all the power!
And considering he's moderate compared to most of the others, it would be less scary to be under that illusion!

Oh, I know that the President's hands are tied in a lot of ways when he has to deal with Congress. The whole "checks and balances" ideal behind the set-up of our government. However, a Republican President, coupled with a more-than-likely Republican dominated Congress will make the passage of their agenda a little more certain.

Besides that, it's not even a chance I'm willing to take at the moment. Maybe if Romney were more specific about his platform, some of my fears would be eased. Not enough to actually cast a vote for him, but maybe I would not have this awful feeling of dread at the thought of him winning the election.

I'm more pointing out the types who act as if Obama is too blame for everything negative that happens in the USA, act as if he has this kind of ultimate power over the country.

I am an gay rights supporting, pro choice, Independent atheist who is very much a Romney supporter. Just as I was when he was Governor of my state.

Bash away, I wont look cuz there is no reasonable way to debate this very liberal left forum. Which is fine because I hate talking politics.-

How impressed you must be, then, that since leaving his role as your governor he's tried so hard to atone for his past political decisions.
