Hardly a surprise. One is not as diligent, driven, smart, accomplished and respectable... unless they've got demons on their back driving them to over-achieve.

I love Rachel Maddow, the world desperately needs more people like her.

And if douchecanoes like Rush start using it as ammunition, I think it's going to backfire on him (again). It only makes him look like a bigoted, ignorant bully.

I think she's got a point - a lot, if not most, brilliant, creative people have cycles of self-doubt and depression. It's part of the psyche of genius.

Oh fuck my eyes!

I just looked up Rush's site to see if he said anything about this, but fuck that noise.
I mean, seriously... that is one (visually) NOISY site!

It's like The Weekly World News in color or the National Inquirer... it just looks like someone puked up the design for that hideous thing.

Sorry, had to rant for a sec there... I love me some Rachel Maddow though.
I'm a big fan of the weekly "Mitt's Mendacity" articles and her poise/presentation in general.

Anyone know her personally... so we can invite her here and we can all kumbaya together?

agreed, although I think it's a side effect for them, rather than a primary effect (for people like me). I like that she breaks form from the idealized public perception of successful people being without fault, doubt, or weakness... It feels like too many buy into that even if they subconsciously know it can't be true. It's nice to see it given voice, and even nicer to see how successful people handle it.

I like her because she brings logic and facts to the table, and won't dance around any elephants in the room.... and yeah even a little "she's one of us" pride. I know it's silly, but I can't help the bit of schadenfreude at the expense of people who talk down about women/queers/liberals/etc...
