During the ruckus over the Obama administrations new rules regarding the coverage of contraceptives by insurance plans, Fox anchors falsely stated that the rules would require all religious institutions to provide the coverage in their insurance plans. It never did. That was a flat out lie.

The rules changed over a period of time. From I can find, the rules were from 2010 and after law suits the rules were revised in late 2011 and then again in 2012.

As I generally understand the final (January 2012) rule - "Churches" do not have to include it (for those involved in the religious aspects of the Church). If they do not, then the insurance company itself must offer it directly to women in that Church's insurance group at no charge to that individual.
