Elizabeth Warren pledges to lead on LGBT rights

I think I've agreed with every word Elizabeth Warren has ever said on any subject ever!

EXCLUSIVE: Elizabeth Warren pledges to lead on LGBT rights | Washington Blade - America's Leading Gay News Source

Quote:
Elizabeth Warren, who is running to unseat U.S. Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), pledged to support a series of pro-LGBT initiatives and called on President Obama to endorse marriage equality in an exclusive interview with the Washington Blade on Tuesday.

Warren endorsed the idea of an executive order from President Obama that would require companies doing business with the U.S. government to have LGBT-inclusive non-discrimination policies for their workers.

“Any steps that the president can take toward non-discrimination benefit the whole country,” Warren said. “I don’t know how else to say it. It’s the right thing to do.”

I like this - the more equality there is, on every issue, the better it is for everyone.

Everything I've ever seen from Elizabeth Warren makes me feel all warm and squishy inside. I have such a girl-crush on her.

Why can't more people be like Elizabeth Warren?

Be careful, a guy in Judea said this a couple thousand years ago and they nailed him to a tree!

That's right. Humans on this planet have some very serious problems to solve, and we can't afford to sideline some by making them second-class citizens. We can't turn down contributions from anyone--we never know who might come up with the solutions we all need.

But if we treat everyone as equal, how will I get to boost my ego by feeling superior to those who are different to me?

Yeah, that does seem to be the unspoken rationale for hierarchy-based-on-demographic-traits, for many. (And most probably lack the self-knowledge to realize it.)

I know - come along and teach brotherly love, and it always ends up going bad. Jesus, Hippies, Early Christians.... but until we get it right, think we'll end up repeating the whole thing.

Interestingly, people who do that have horrible self esteem - they have to ruin everyone else's to feel good about themselves. o.o I'm glad I'm not quite that bad.

People needing this kind of ego-boost have a severe lack of self-confidence anyways...
