Palin is defending Limbaugh!

I guess she wasn't getting enough attention?

Sarah Palin defends Rush Limbaugh, cites

Quote:
Sarah Palin said Tuesday the reaction in media and political circles that prompted Rush Limbaugh to apologize for calling a law student a “slut” was “the definition of hypocrisy.”

“I think the definition of hypocrisy is for Rush Limbaugh to have been called out, forced to apologize and retract what it is that he said in exercising his First Amendment rights and never is that the same applied to the leftist radicals who say such horrible things about the handicapped, about women, about the defenseless,” Palin told CNN in an interview from Wasilla, Alaska.
Hmmm! Sounds suspiciously like another notorious echo chamber we have here, don't it?

Sarah Louise Palin will you please go now!
The time has come.
The time has come.
The time is now.
Just go.
Go.
Go!
I don't care how.
You can go by foot.
You can go by cow.
Sarah Louise Palin will you please go now!
You can go on skates.
You can go on skis.
You can go in a hat.
But
Please go.
Please!
I don't care.
You can go
By bike.
You can go
On a Zike-Bike
If you like.
If you like
You can go
In an old blue shoe.
Just go, go, GO!
Please do, do, do, DO!
Sarah Louise Palin
I don't care how.
Sarah Louise Palin
Will you please
GO NOW!
You can go on stilts.
You can go by fish.
You can go in a Crunk-Car
You ignorant bitch.
If you wish
You may go
By lion's tale.
Or fuck yourself
And go by mail.
Sarah Louise Palin
Don't you know
The time has come
To go, go, GO!
Get on your way!
Please Sarah L.!
You might like going in a Zumble-Zay.
You can go by balloon . . .
Or broomstick.
Or
You can go by camel
In a bureau drawer.
You can go by bumble-boat
. . . or jet.
I don't care how you go.
Just get!
Sarah Louise Palin!
I don't care how.
Sarah Louise Palin
Will you please
GO NOW!
I said
GO
And
GO
I meant . . .
The time had come
So . . .
Sarah vents."

My apologies to Dr Suess

On the matter of free speech, let me say that Limbaugh does indeed have the right to say odious shit. So does Fred Phelps.

But as in all rights and priveleges, there is an accompanying responsibility. In Limbaugh's case, spouting offensive drivel is going to cost him a fuckton of money. He can go on spouting that offensive drivel until he's broke for all I care.

I'm curious, what "horrible things" are those "leftist radicals" saying about the handicapped (should be accommodated in the workplace), women (should have rights to their own bodies, and their medical concerns treated equally), and the helpless (should be fed, housed, and assited to getting back on their feet).... ?

I think I broke my Rightwing decoder ring, but I think she is reinterpreting history and what she thought was being said about Trig and about her daughter Bristol.

Unkind things were said, yes, but I don't remember hearing any major news figures calling Bristol a slut because she was pregnant at 17. If she counts random anonymous internet chatter as "leftist radicals" she's just looking for a reason to bitch.

Rahm Emmanuel called liberal progressives "retarded" and Palin decided he was talking about Trig.

Quote:
Using Sarah Palin's defense of Rush Limbaugh against her, last night Stephen Colbert proudly pronounced that "Sarah Palin is a f--king retard."

After mocking Palin's speech at the Tea Party Convention (taking the obligatory jabs at the notes on her hand) Colbert moved on to Palin's reaction to Rahm Emanuel's use of the word "retard." Palin not only called for his Emanuel's firing, but also defended Rush Limbaugh's use of the word, deeming it acceptable because it was satire.

After playing the clip of Limbaugh's "subtle" satire, Colbert jumped on the opportunity that his own satirical show presented. An opportunity to call Palin a "f--king retard." Colbert added that her reasoning also explained the note on her other hand: "Retard = sometimes funny."
Colbert: "Sarah Palin Is A F--king Retard" (VIDEO)

Palin won't run. At this point she would be about as serious a candidate as Donald Trump, and she doesn't want to bruise her ego by losing.

As for the original topic: uh, is anyone actually surprised at Palin's situational ethics any more? Of course she'd take Rush's side, that's what she does. Partisan positioning matters more than ethical standards. Bear in mind this is the same crowd that struggled to blame Anders Brevik's murder spree in Norway on liberals.

Quoted for truth. Not that it is any sort of stat, but I have seen just as much (or more) venomous stuff on the net where someone says they are part of a right wing group. All it proves is people on the net love to argue anonymously. Who is louder does not even tell you who does it more.

Romney barely squeaked by in Ohio, though and after Santorum took a pair of rightwing redneck states (Oklahoma and Tennessee), the news channels this morning were musing whether Palin would show up at the convention just to be available for a last-minute drafting if the delegate got hung up on Romney & Santorum.

I was like "uh huh, and I want to go out with my ex husband".

Palin's the right person to address the hypocrisy. No lowbrow campaign to utterly destroy, to assassinate the character of a good person, can even come close to the torrent of hate that the leftist lemmings launched against her, and she has shown herself to be above her attackers in every sense. I really wish she was running...

And, btw, her comments are less a defense of Limbaugh, and more just putting it in perspective. The outrage over his comments has nothing to do with sexism or misogyny, and any woman who thinks so is kidding herself.

The mere idea that Rush's right to free speech under the First Amendment has been infringed by people demanding an apology from that big fat windbag is hilarious.

When the CEO of the US govt (Obama) singles out a private citizen (Limbaugh) for speaking his mind, it most definitely is a 1st Amendment issue, is it not?

Palin-Limbaugh in '12!

Now there's a combo that would provide epic amounts of infotainment and help brand the GOP as the party of "subtle satire".

Sarah Palin's politics are nothing more than shallow regurgitations of rightwing slogans. She hasn't had a deep thought since the last time she slept with Todd.

It's not even that which scares me about a Palin Presidency - it's her utter and willful ignorance regarding economics and world affairs that would make the Bush Presidency look like a day in the Smithsonian.

A Palin Presidency would be an epic disaster of Biblical proportions.

If there were evidence of Obama pressing the FCC to threaten the stations carrying Limbaugh's show or to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine in a way that would drive him off the air, then it would be. But as you describe it, it is not. Limbaugh shot first. The president has a right to respond.
