Rush Limbaugh sets my brain on fire. He is scum and it amazes me that anyone can stand listening to him. His remarks were false, rude, misogynistic, totally uncalled for and a lot of other really unkind things.

From his comments, and some of the comments online I've read, Ms. Fluke saying that birth control could cost a woman $3,000 over her law school years turned into that she has to have sex 3 times a day and wants taxpayers to pay for it. WTF??? Rush et al are saying this as if Ms. Fluke actually said it during her testimony.

I can't wait until I start reading this on Facebook, the misquoting of what Ms. Fluke actually said, I mean. I swear, half of the people on FB have no access to Google or Snopes. There is NO fact checking done at all for some of them who post ignorant crap. And I know some of them will start swearing that prostitutes want taxpayers to pay for their livelihoods and birth control.

He's certainly gone over the edge once again. I find it frustrating to understand what the actual FCC laws are, how bad someone has to get before they are penalized. It is such a fine line between free speech and hate speech sometimes.

I find it interesting that Fox News has been urging the Supreme Court to reverse the rulings on indecency and stop "policing the airwaves". (First Amendment case since 2007, last heard in January, FCC vs Fox). Shit, if Fox doesn't like it..

But that all seems to be around talk of sexual organs, so who knows.

CNN covered this yesterday and noted that there is a major backlash among some women's groups, and that Limbaugh may very well have hurt the Republican Party's female support (what little of it is left) this fall with his stupidity.

Oh, and of course in the video snippet I saw, he also called Fluke a "feminazi". It just never gets old, does it?

I keep thinking over the years, he cannot shock me anymore...I won't let him shock me anymore...but with all the build up over the past few weeks and feeling actually threatened by a faction of old white men talking politics, I was already on edge, and this sent me right over.

I actually felt ill reading what he was saying about this woman (and thus to me as a female who *gasps* has had sex not just to procreate).

That is however the conservative expectation for women (and seemingly only women), abstinence: just don't do it. If a woman has sex she's a slut. If a man rapes a woman, then it's her fault for tempting him. Men can't handle their urges you see, so they can't be blamed.

I love that he called her to check on her, especially that he told her to tell her parents they should be proud of her. Can you imagine any of the asshole GOP candidates doing this? Santorum would call her parents and offer his condolences for having a sinful slut of a daughter who is going to hell.
