I think it's terrible that that website thought it was so important to invade the privacy of an 18 year old non-celebrity the day after her mother's funeral.

Depends. If she's got a history of substance abuse, if she's had a history of problems with marijuana, it can still be a big deal. For some people, it's not just an occasional thing, they'll take a few hits and then keep smoking all day and stay glued to the couch. It's no different than how some people can have a beer or a glass of wine with dinner and be fine, but for others even one beer is going to lead to another and another and another and nothing's going to stop them. Those people avoid even a single drink, and for people with that sort of history, their family members would have every reason to be worried if they found them having even one or two drinks.

Besides, we don't know that it's just marijuana. Given that others in that family have histories of substance abuse, their definition of "getting high" is probably more than that. But again, with a family history of substance abuse, they're probably right to be worried.

And with a family history of substance abuse and a painful and tragic death of a family member, the last thing the girl needs is for it to become a public spectacle.

Besides, if she got fucked up the day after her mother's funeral, who can blame her? HER MOM JUST DIED. I'm normally a tea-totaller, but my sisters and I got drunk the night of our father's funeral. Did it help anything? Yeah. It actually did. For a few hours the pain of losing a parent wasn't so bad. The next day I got up at silly o'clock in the morning, and rode my bike 35 miles. That helped too.

I hope the rehab is somewhere that will protect her, keep the media away and let the poor girl grieve in private. She's not an entertainer or "public" citizen. People need to leave her alone. Hopefully, the time away from where she could be easily hounded and taken advantage of will help her to gain some strength and healing.
