These crosstabs from Public Policy Polling for Dec 11-18, 2001 contradict that claim. Michelle Bachman has the highest favorability and it's still a net unfavorable.

He did have the highest support in one CNN poll, but that was only 25% favorability. That's a very small hook on which to hang such a big claim. Matched with Obama he polls 10%, less than Romney's 12 and Gingrich's 13 and that is before the newsletters got much scrutiny.

Of course, google blacks support Ron Paul and you get videos saying blacks support Paul more than Obama, but I think that should be edited to (a) black supports Paul more than Obama since the only evidence is one black man saying he supports Paul more than Obama.

Racism is apart of this country, consider the era and region where Ron came from; I'm pretty sure he was a racist. Back then the whole country was in an ass backward racism culture, it was the "norm". We've came a long way and still have work to be done. It seems that Ron has ditched the outdated thinking and moved on to the 21st century.

Racism, marriage right, abortion and all other social issues are tiny compare to the big issues such as corruptions (legalization of corruption) and erosion of civil rights. We can't deal with social issues effectively when the entire political system is corrupted to the bones.

Ron is the lesser of evils, just look at all other candidates. They are all just another Bush, Obama = lying mother fuckers! They are all rotten meats packaged in two different labels with marketing slogans. So it gives a false believe that there are two choices.

Sadly there are too many subjective Americans who are easily falling under the spell of packaged politicians' showmanship via mainstream media. Every four years, they go around the country with American flag wrapped around the cross, then toss the props in the basement once they get into the office. They don't believe in any of it, however they know the power it has over the believers and how to use it for their advantage.

There is only one political party in this country. They have way too much power in their hands right now. The Constitution was written to prevent any one group from having this kind of power. We, the People are failing it right now; and we're the one has the most to lose.

Really, what you are saying is that if it doesn't affect you, you don't care. As to civil rights, the issues of race, marriage and reproductive rights are civil rights issues, just ones you don't care about.

As to the historic context of those newsletter, they are from the 70's not the 50s. They are the letters of the enraged unreconstructed racists objecting to the advancement of civil rights. Society had moved on and Ron Paul did not.

It's not enough to care about liberty if the only liberty you care about is your own.
