"Call it what you like," said the Cat.

Sorry, but are we debating Georgia O'Keefe now? Because she's dead, you know, and in no condition to debate on any topic.

Well skinny dipping in a tub full of puppies sounded like a good idea, till you find out that said puppies were provided by Stephen King Kennels and were most likely procured from his Pet Cemetery.

beach house in Maine?!!!

Ok...which beach is best?

Many of y'all from "away" seem to focus South at OOB (blech!). But that is too crowded.

Nope...Popham is much much better. And they have brand new restrooms... with plumbing! Of course it gets crowded there too.

So my vote is Reid State Park. Nice sandy beach, plenty of tide pools, and rocks. Mostly locals. And a dock-side lobster shack 5 minutes away for the picnic munchies!

Yeah, I'm way far south on Moody beach near Ogunquit. The public beaches are too crowded but ours is private so it's kinda nice. Reid and Popham are up in the great white north under the permafrost

LOL!!!!!

No that's Rockland.

If we'd ever have a sunny day or two, Reid and Popham would be great. Just stay out of the water. It's still 52-52F. Brrrrrrr.

And people who want to stop would find it easier to ask for help, without so much stigma. It would also remove a funding source from organised crime. Or at least, make drug trade far less profitable.
I can see it now:

  • Politicians on drugs supplied by crime lords and others who want to influence government (keep 'em doped up)
  • Churches that provide drugs to their congregations to keep them in heaven on Earth and compliant to Church direction
  • Government that supplies drugs to people to make sure they "vote" the right way . . . or to keep them placidly under thumb
  • Many more people who end up in hospitals or dead due to drug overdoses, since drugs would be easier to get
And so on. . .

Every blade has two edges.

While I think it'd be okay to legalize the less obnoxious drugs (e.g. marijuana) and tax the sh*t of them, I'd be very against legalizing harder drugs.

I worked for many years at a drug counseling clinic and have seen too much of what drugs can do to people to endorse letting drugs be legalized for public use.

As far as I'm concerned your friend is right on the money.
