The sky is all colours depending on various circumstances.

Aimee, please consider being environmentally and energy usage friendly. Rather than wear sun screen, try a burqua. They are hand washable and reusable.

Thank you.

I'll compromise. I'll wear a burqa, but I'll be naked underneath.

Can't say I understand the reference myself...it comes from,,,

Minerva dear, do you ever look at rainbows?”

“That’s it. Minerva can see a rainbow, a blind man can’t.

“Lazarus,” Minerva added, “it may be that I can see a rainbow
better than a flesh-and-blood can. My visual range is three octaves,
fifteen hundred to twelve thousand angstroms.”

Lazarus whistled. “Whereas I chop off just short of one octave. Tell
me girl, do you see chords in those colors?”

“Oh, certainly!”

“Hmm! Don’t try to explain to me those other colors; I’ll have to
go on being half blind.

While you can argue that all colors of the spectrum are scattered by our atmosphere, when you ask what color something is, it pretty much means what color we see as people.

Lets see:

Blue - daytime
Green - Aurora Borealis
Red and Yellow - sunsets.
White - clouds
Black - nightime.

So the question is; define sky?

While you're at it, define "sky" in terms of global location, orientation of the observer, time, date, year, etc...no?

Or, define yourself and your relationship to the sky as dictated by your location in time and space?

Well the way I figure it ... point in any direction and no matter where you are, you're probably pointing at A sky, somewhere.

Aimee is forgetting the Earth is a flat, slightly bevelled disk supported by four elephants standing on a turtle

You realise, Aimee, this goes against the long standing tradition of saying the sky is up. Is it your intention to disrupt the fabric of our society with this, I assume, scientism??

The fabric of society is sort of like a soft chamois that can absorb more than you ever thought it could.

You can break pretty much any conceptual argument down by breaking down the concepts being discussed. The problem is that this only demonstrates the ephemeral nature of mental concepts and really doesn't say anything the original subject.

So, while defining terms is a necessity for debate, generally the most common, colloquial meaning is the one to be used by default. In this case, we would likely be referring to the visible color of our atmosphere during daylight conditions. So, while you are correct in noting that there are variations in color based on certain factors, it was pretty much unnecessary to do so

I think you bring us to the brink of chaos. I am sure you would claim that your scientism is to bring clarity and understanding. But I can imagine one day a child playing in his yard and screaming "Daddy, there is a big plane in the sky." To which he runs out, and having been newly educated, proceeds to look at the ground and the buildings and left and right before looking up! His child would look upon him in confusion and wonder; has scientism actually lead to clarity?

I submit that you go too far, madam, and must cease forthwith!!
