Like a dog to vomit, I return to this thread once more before deplaning from consciousness.

I was eating dinner. Oven-roasted green beans tossed with a Tbsp of olive oil and dusted with garlic, fresh-ground pepper and sea salt, and decided since this thread has turned so ugly in spots, I might as well add a couple of late points.

In another thread, I posted a recent study that showed that the use of HFCS for all kinds of non-sweet applications, like preventing freezer burn on veggies and meat, adds about 15% more sugar than otherwise. Stealth sugar which is biased towards storage not burning by its processing in the liver. I'll be honest, I'm too cranky to go find the link again.

But something I'd forgotten that came to me again in the middle of my green beans is the changes we've bred into fruits and veggies over the last 25 years to give them a higher sugar content and thus make them more attractive to consumers. I read that in a journal article many years ago, so apologies for not posting a source.

Lastly, for those fat individuals who have an excessive dopamine response, i.e. they respond to sugar like an addictive substance more so than the average (remember the rats). Consider this...

If you are an alcoholic, or addicted to nicotine or heroin, there is a point where you can walk away from the substance. It may be hard, but you can never have another drink, smoke or snort.

Food doesn't leave you that option. 3-4 times a day, you have to eat. And although straight-up sugar is the worst culprit, starches are just complex sugars. That's why an antagonist would be a wonderful thing.

Well, the local sheriffs department requires a certain BMI for most jobs now, despite BMI being ridiculous.

I pointed that out to a recruiter, who agreed with me; but the system hasn't changed. It's a lazy man's way of deciding if someone is out of shape.

Say what you will, I do not know you or care enough about most of you to be hurt by silly words. My self esteem is higher than that. After all, I have not been acting so uptight, directly hostile and oversensitive enough to assume everything is a personal jab at some aspect of my life.

I have stated my side time and time again, but it does not matter as people's minds are set. They seem to absolutely refuse to believe that I am anything other than prejudice towards obese people, even if I directly point out that that I'm fine with them. So why did I bother keeping on? To explain.

...but, apparently any attempt to explain myself is seen as an insult to somebody as well. People pick a mindset and stick to it, refusing to see things any other way. All of this is like talking to a brick wall, only much less productive. Quite tiring, really.

Let's look at it so far:

Person 1 & 2: Yes you did because I thought you did, so it must be a fact! There is NO other alternative. Even if you honestly say you didn't and didn't know it would be so offensive I am convinced in my mind that you are prejudice, so stop judging me! Whatever you say is bad!
