Senior British counter-terrorism officer sparks security alert...

BBC NEWS | UK | Terror raids follow files blunder

Quote:
Twelve men have been arrested in the north west of England after Britain's most senior counter-terrorism police officer sparked a security alert.

Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick said he "deeply regretted" revealing a secret document to photographers when he arrived for a briefing at No 10.

Well... at least he didn't leave the document on a train at Paddington Station on his way home. So there has been some progress in the handling of confidential information... I suppose.

How stupid can you get? Reminds me of the time the MP for Communities and Local Government walked past the press and most probably in the same spot carrying documents that could be seen about the housing crisis.

Edit, couldn't remember her name for a moment lol. Caroline Flint. Shocking seeing as its what I work in. But then this is the third MP we've had in four years

Incompetent doesnt really seem a big enough word to cover this.

And were those not the words on a government document about our readiness in the event of a war with the Soviet Union?

I'm still waiting for the first minister to accidentally leak vital documents across facebook.

I think it's funny, though, that our friend Jacquee Smith has been on the news these past few days talking about the professionalism of the police force and that the independent police commission thing is a trustworthy and transparent way to identify malpractice.

I love how she can say these things without her head exploding from the irony.

She must be delighted tho, this has now pushed 'police kill man going home from work' from the lead in the media.

...which obscured the "my husband is a PPV wanker" story even further.

Bob Quick resigned minutes ago btw.

Incidentally, he was the guy who sent his anti-terrorist heavies to raid Damien Green's home and parliamentary office for highlighting government incompetence via Home Office leaks. A few weeks later, Quick accused the Tories of effectively bullying him by leaking unbecoming stories about his wife to the media... but was forced to retract his allegations because he couldn't back them up at all.

Im beginning to think that this particular gang of socialists that have taken over the nation are really nothing more than thugs who use thug methods.

I never quite understood why an apparent oaf like prescott was deputy leader for so many years....Im beginning to understand why now...enforcer.

And yes Im glad he resigned, he should have been sacked before tho for going into the commons and arresting Green

I know! I'm surprised he's still in a job five months after that whole affair TBH.
