Chris Brown is said to have considered her damage goods since the herpes thing. The emphasis is his and the bloggers not mine. They have been fighting since this happened and supposedly they had a mutually obsessive and abusive relationship.

I don't like when people are accused of crimes and tried in the media. There are 3 sides to every story I would like to reserve judgment until proper information is supplied.

I never hit her back. I don't care if she did hit him and/or started it (which I highly doubt). You don't hit women.

ETA:

For someone decrying media sensationalism, you sure don't have any issues with grabbing onto the media's use of "herpes" when "cold sore" would do just fine.

You are misreading my opinion which is a simple one. I never said it was providing an education. I don't think anyone with a brain expects to obtain an education about something as serious as domestic violence via the regular media.

What I said was that someone out there may rethink their personal situation because of it. People see things on TV or read in a magazine something that can be classified as "sensational" that causes them to look up more information from a reputable source. I've done this myself.

Can we please not nit-pick?

I am not misreading your opinion. I feel that just as easily as it can perhaps change someones life for the better. It can also make them stay in the situation for different reasons.

Unfortunately, all this will do is give Chris Brown some "street cred"...

The celebrity-obsessed elements of society who have to know EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of so-called celebrity lifestyles are the only reasons show like TMZ, Extra and Access Hollywood even exist.

Don't get me wrong, Chris Brown (and any other man who hits or abuses a women) is a low-life punk. But the over-reporting of said incidents just makes us all the more numb to it the next time it occurs.

It wouldn't show up if those places were covered and he probably never hit her in the face before the current situation. Domestic victims usually try to hide the signs if possible.

A local radio station has already stopped playing his music until the case is resolved and I've read that several more across the country are doing the same:

Local R&B station WABB is pulling the plug on one of the country's hottest artists.

Chris Brown was arrested February 8 for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna, leaving severe bruises to her face. Brown issued the following statement saying he's sorry for what happened.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds."

The District Attorney's office has yet to decide whether to file charges. But WABB has already reached its verdict. The station has decided to temporarily pull Brown from it's day-to-day rotation.

“Personally, I think Chris Brown is a talented young artist, but at the end of the day, I cannot support him at this time with the allegations against him, however he is still innocent until proven guilty, and at that time we will re-visit this situation, and I think the listeners of The Gulf Coast agree with me,” said Program Director Chris Michaels. “We are a female-oriented radio station, and we here at WABB have to stand up for women of domestic violence. It is not okay to assault women, and we hope that temporarily suspending Chris Brown’s records from WABB will send a message that celebrities are not above the law.”

If the pictures shake some people out of their denial, it is probably worth it. A lot of people don't seem to realize what domestic violence is.
