I was assured by both the Lobbyist and Cris that that had nothing to do with Mero's banning and that it was all hate speech and it was that one post and not a conglomeration of what he had posted.

I don't think that one post has come anywhere near several of Rebecca's in this thread.

Honestly I don't want Rebecca banned. I want Mero freed. And I'm a little stunned at the lack of consistency.

You can spin it as anti-muslim or you can realize it's anti-terrorist-muslim, which dominates the news in the Middle-East and back a few short years centered on NYC. The simple reality is there are NO Middle Eastern countries who are backing Israel and even the countries who are assisting anti-terrorism publicy still arrest their own citizens for just for visiting Israel.


If you pay attention there are many very popular muslim leaders in the Middle East advocating the destruction of Israel, taking over of the entire world and imposing Muslim Law. We just had one of them speaking at the UN a couple weeks ago, while Larry King asks him how his children are doing.

It's just reality no matter what politically correct things one might say.

As Geert Wilder said to the effect, "you can't expect the moderate Islamic people to stop them."

No matter how we might want to be liberal about this and try to appease them, we have to look at history and realize that "appeasement," has had horrid consequences.

Guy's a rabid nutcase. He has some good points, and I agree with the meaning behind most of his speeches. But the meaning gets drowned in populism.

I miss the good old days when the right-wing wasn't populist yet. Yeah, it guarantees the vote of the uneducated masses - but at what cost? The New Right is hardly better than the left wing, afraid to insult the unemployed because it would cost the support of their biggest audience.

Actually most Arab nations and the vast majority of non-arab Muslim ones do not actively act against Israel.

There are roughly 1 BILLION Muslims. Obviously the fraction that are involved in Fanatical terrorism is proportionally very tiny.

I am not going to judge if Wilder is exaggerating dangers in his country or europe or the US, but that statement is just commen sense.
