It sorta depends. I've met a few skinheads in my travels that didn't turn any more "white" when called to the carpet. They instead wanted to kick the shite out of anyone not on the acceptable list.

I'm not really as offended as I am tired of her. TIRED of hearing this in general, the whole Obama is a Muslim thing, the whole Arabs are out to get us thing...I am tired of (by my own choice) defending that here...because I happen to be tied to that world very strongly (although my BF really doesn't practice, he instead brews his own beer and plays SL).

It just gets so old, the constant underlying fear and hatred.

And this coming from someone who is always seen as a Jew...the whole thing just gets weirder and weirder on my end.

Rebecca can be a bigot and spout all the bigotted speech she desires. After all even that speech, disgusting as it is, is protected. That, in itself, should not be reason, IMO, for suspension or banning.

HOWEVER, she crosses a line when using the same hostility in addressing the community.

However, we are not the board moderator. If the board moderator deems that such examples as the above contribute anything to discussions here and allows the poster to continue, that is entirely up to his discretion.

In the other forum I belong to now, any sort of racism is insta ban. It's posted and you have to agree to it when you sign up (and yes, it's an American forum--happens to have a science focus)

With all due respect, Jacqueline, she has a point. Have you ever tried to make a fire by rubbing two sticks together? I had a Forest Service Ranger try to teach me how to do it. I spent a solid 45 minutes rubbing the damned sticks together as hard as I could and all I got were a couple of hot sticks. Making a fire by rubbing sticks together is freakin' HARD. My shoulders hurt for days after that. I can't imagine how difficult it would be if you were doing it while fighting off demonic possession.

Although now that I think about it, maybe the demon could help - what with the hellfire and all. Hmmm....Hellfire roasted hotdogs and smores...

Regardless, I agree. It's Cris' board. The things Rebecca posts are vile to me. They are hateful and base and ignorant, but she is free to have whatever opinion she wants, and I wouldn't take that freedom from her. Her right to post her insanity here is regulated by the board owners, not the First Amendment, though, so whatever Cris decides is fine by me. If he lets her keep posting, I'll keep pointing and laughing at her.

I only saw that one thread (where I noticed Mero in particular) but from what I saw, I'd tend to agree in that instance it's not nearly as 'bad' as what is going on here.

Fuck. I think everyone knows how pissy I can get over people insulting others (and funny, it is really never ME, it's me defending other people who have been insulted. I must stop that).

I will admit that (for Cris' sake), I have seen other forums with much clearer lines drawn on what is acceptable and not...theoretically making his job a hella easier, but by doing so, it does change the flavor of the place, I imagine.
