Sorry, didn't mean lower = lesser. I meant a less complex life form.

So you have evidence of evolution and that the earth is old enough to support long-term evolution. You also have evidence that humans as well as other various life forms evolved from less complex species. The natural hypothesis is that all life evolved from cellular organisms. I am not sure how it can be proven that we evolved from a cellular organism, especially since that process takes billions of years. Or at least, it can't be proven with the hard facts you are looking for.

Basically it boils down to what is the greatest possibility given the current evidence. Thats the great thing about science, it can be challenged by anyone using its own scientific method.
