Let's hear straight from the candidates

Post videos of them speaking in this thread. Let's hear what they have to say from them.

I'll start with this one. Barack on Change in Concord, NH 09/12/08 (today):

I can't embed these - this page has excellent clips of John McCain, in his own words, from his interview today on the View:

I actually used to watch the view everynow and then while eating breakfast or working out. Eventually I stopped. Mostly because every time I see Elisabeth Hasselbeck I tend to see red and want to maim.

I hate Elisabeth Hasselbeck with a white hot hate that makes me want to kill puppies every time I hear or see her. My dream is to see Whoopie and Joy beat the living shit out of her one of these days.

I know there are people here who support McCain. Don't any of you have videos of him saying things that inspire you? Come on, let's hear it!

Until then, I offer this one on today's financial excitement:

She needs to be fired from the View for what she did to Michelle Obama at the RNC. Whatever her political leanings, to reveal private backstage information about a guest in the way that she did was incredibly unprofessional and damages the integrity of the show. I can't imagine Barbara Walters is very happy about it.

One nice thing at least is Cindy McCain is crying that the women on the View picked their bones clean because they were tough on her husband. Poor baby.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 2008, AOL conducted a poll to ascertain public opinion towards various American talk show hosts. In question nine "Who is the worst interviewer?" the choices offered were Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Tyra Banks, Dr. Phil, Larry King and Meredith Vieira. 35% of the 1.35 million respondents chose Hasselbeck. Referencing the poll, Christina Kinon in a Daily News article reported that Hasselbeck is "considered the worst interviewer on television".[

Elisabeth Hasselbeck reminds me of my mother: clueless about politics aside from the soundbytes she picked up from other sources, and the type of person that mistakes gossip for news.

Ok, I admit that I'm kinda cheating with this video because technically it's a campaign ad. However, since no one seems to want to post videos of what Senator McCain has to say, then I submit this one for them.

When Senator McCain starts to speak, notice the little box on the right displaying that the DOW is down 221.95 points at that moment.

I really wish some of the McCain supporters here would post some stuff, this isn't supposed to be the Barack Obama thread. It's meant to be a platform for both candidates.

Straight from Sarah Palin to the email addresses of America:

It took the Republican vice presidential nominee less than 15 minutes after her debate with Biden ended before she sent out her first fund-raising appeal. John McCain waited about 25 minutes to make his plea after last week's debate.

Of course, Barack Obama and Biden’s pitches followed.

Palin's Dear Supporter e-mail, sent on behalf of the Republican National Committee, landed at 7:44 p.m.

She opened by bashing the “liberal media.” And in the first paragraph did it again, saying the debate gave her the “opportunity to bypass the biased media filter.”

Then she bashed the media again: “I'm asking you to ensure we have the resources necessary to compete with the Obama-Biden Democrats and their liberal media allies in races across the country.”

Then the letter attack Obama-Biden and the Ohio early voting system, and warned that “they'll do anything to win this election.” To stop them, Palin asks for "your generous contribution of $25, $50, $75, $150, $250, $500 or more."

Biden sent his pitch out shortly after 10 p.m. In his email, Biden said Palin gave a "spirited defense of the same disastrous policies that have failed us for the past eight years."

If Americans want change, the reasoning goes, they ought to give him some dollars. He'd settle for $5 to "bring out the change we need."
