Every since Bush got in via the courts rather than the vote of the people, I've been amused by the apparent lying, scheming and conspiracy anyone that wants to become President is willing to do. I would have thought you'd want someone honest, trustworthy and willing to listen to the people.

Mind you, I'm with Douglas Adams on this one. The people who should never be allowed to wield power are those that seek it.

I'm afraid we've seen too many examples of this kind of blatant dishonestly from the Republicans to be surprised anymore.

They've lied in the past quite a bit, but this is quite over the top.

We should choose presidents like they choose the Dali Lama. Close your eyes and pick the little kid that feels like a gud'un.

Or we could make the position of the president similar to jury duty.

"Tell whatever lies are necessary to achieve your agenda" seems to have become a plank in the Republican platform.

It was nice to see someone call a lie a lie. Perhaps the media are starting to do their alleged job?

This quote really caught me off-guard because I think at first look it is so. But I really don't have a party affiliation per se (registered independent for the little that matters) and so I try to evaluate statements like that from another side.

I think back over the swiftboating and getting the supremes to call the election and the Willie Horton ads and I just can't seem to recall Democrats doing the same.

Before this got me to wondering, I would have said that all candidates stoop to whatever level they think will work. I'm not so sure any longer.
