If true that would be problematic for her.

Course how would they really get anything on that - it will be Palin's word against the waitresses?

So only the some of the people who don't like Palin already would believe the waitress at that point.

So he grew up in 50-60's Georgia.

Where the water fountains, bath rooms, schools, etc ,etc were all segregated.

And he didn't know a common racial slur.

When most of us, who are too young (or not born) to remember the 60's, and not from the south, knew it.

I'm a non-native English speaker and even I knew that "uppity" is a loaded term.

There is a simple answer. The Republicans are suffering from a virus that makes them selectively forget things. This virus usually manifests itself when an infected person is called on to remember important or incriminating information. The CDC predicts that there will be a major outbreak of the so-called "Icannarecall Virus" sometime after 1/20/2009.
