I figured it's time for a poll.

Ugh. I am still undecided. I do not like Obama for many reasons that I don't care to debate. I do not like McCain because from what I understand, he's just another 4 more years of Bush and dayum the man is OLD!...in good shape yes, but OLD nonetheless!

I dunno. For me it's all just sucking. So how come we get over 50 beauty queens to choose from for Miss Universe but only two for president hmmm? Saw that question somewhere and it totally piques my interest.

I thought about it. But if I lived in the States I wouldn't vote for either in the end. It doesn't matter if I'd vote for Obama or McCain, both ways would feel like selling out my principles. I respect Obama for bringing change, though I disagree with his politics. I respect McCain for his military service, though I disagree with him being a lying sack of shit.

Other isn't really viable either - I don't know any third party candidates, except I've heard the Green one is a nutter, and I've heard Bob Barr mentioned a few times here - but the way I understand American politics he wouldn't stand a chance anyway.

So I probably wouldn't vote at all even if I were in the States.

I'm looking at Wikipedia's list of 3rd party candidates now, and we'll see if I find someone I like though.

We as a people continue to make the worst possible choices because we'd rather bury ourselves in shiny toys and widgets while avoiding real issues than accomplish something. Then we can sit around for four more years and complain about whatever choice is made and how we wish we had gone the other way.

The entire process is nonsense and has long since been bought and paid for by corporations and special interest groups. Although I will likely go down and cast my vote, I have no confidence it will mean anything as I believe the choice has been made for us, long before now.
