This is an OBVIOUS plant by the McCain campaign, they've been doing this to distract from the convention.

Palin is currently involved in a VERY public abuse of power investigation. Alaskan Republicans are a mess right now.

I don't know much about her. But she is a very attractive lady.

Dana Bash on CNN called her "young female John McCain.". So the pick would fit.

Now the cynic in me wonders...

A man who has a reputation, deserved or not, as a womanizer is appointing a young attractive woman as his VP running-mate? Hmmm....

I wonder if he thinks it will make him look more virile?

And I wonder if he'll make jokes about a strip-off between his wife and his running mate to a meeting of drunk bikers? (cheap shot, I know...but I'm feeling particularly bitchy this morning.)

McCain thinks woman are stupid and will vote for him just because he has a female on the ticket. This is kind of an insult to the minds of American Woman if this is his choice.

"I'll just put a female on my ticket to make sure I get more Hillary supporters"

CNN just confirmed it. McCain will pick Palin. I guess her spokesperson was fibbing about her date with the Alaska State fair as cover.

All the signals clearly point to Ohio Sen. George Voinovich. He would make McCain look youthful and vital. And he would counter the fact that Obama defeated a seemingly invincible electoral juggernaut in the person of Dennis Kucinich on his way to the nomination. Voinovich, during his years as Mayor of Cleveland, defeated not one but TWO Kucinichs.... he beat both Dennis and his brother Gary. Most of all, Voinovich is from Ohio, a state which epitomizes America's tradition of fair, honest, clean, bipartisan elections... this will serve as a stark contrast to Obama's roots in Chicago.

Well for each side of the political spectrum that wants to vilify the other side, have your fun with this pick. But I think it's very exciting this year that we have black candidate for president, and a female candidate for vice president. I think this is a very good week for the country. And I think all of these people are good people.

Many Hillary supporters worked themself into not liking Obama .. and Obama didnt pick her for VP ...

It deffintely could get McCain some votes.

It also means that both the Dem and Reb tickets will be "Historic" in that whoever wins it wont be two old white guys.

That and shes not nearly as BORING as Biden.

Where do you get that? She is conservative, but she also sounds practical and empathetic. I wish she were more progressive on social issues, but she doesn't sound "so far to the right" either.

...I don't think McCain could survive 4 years in the white house personally...although maybe he has had that shoulder slump since his POW days.

C'mon. It is so obvious. She is knee deep in the middle of scandal.

Plus his likes to critisize Obama for no experience and being a rock star. Well look at his pick for VP. She is a former beauty contest winner with less experience than Obama himself.
