There was a time when that was true - but Chelsea has grown into a beautiful woman.

I am all for belief in God, I dont need to make you people aware. But when the Pulpit becomes a Political Stage, where they are preaching their Political Agendas, I am left with no defense for faith.

God certainly wouldn't be preying to have Polar bears taken off the endangered list to feed her fat neck mates in Exxon...

The US does not have nationalised oil fields.. why the fuck do they keep saying "our" oil... exxon will suck it up and sell it to you destroying environments while they're at it..

I thought I saw a picture of Cindy McCain holding him as well? There are more images of people holding that baby than there are of anything else at the convention so far. It's a little creepy.

Would it be better to have the baby out of sight ? (and out of mind...as they say?)
Should they have just dropped the baby off with a nanny and then enjoy the convention ? Oh, imagine the stories that would be brought up then!

One person can not handle a baby the entire time...they get heavy and cumbersome. I think its nice that the baby was kept close to the family whether or not it was held by the mother or father.

Actually, I was remarking about the extraordinary amount of media time devoted to the baby. It was unseemly. Every single media roll features at least one cut away to the baby.

Kinda like how the media showed so many people crying after Obama's speech. I'd bet there were all of 10 people in the audience with tears in their eyes (2 of them because the fat jerk next to them cut a stinker), but the media found them and pointed the camera.

Conventions are political stage plays, and the media filters everything that goes on for us so that all we see is what they want us to see. Let's not be too surprised

Cris, I'll add that personally still do not think she is attractive, but i did concede in that post that:

You'd have to be a brave man to get involved with Clinton's daughter though... regardless of her looks (which I think are nice)

Yeah, I get that I had the same criticisms of the messiah effect and fireworks after Obama's speech. Too much. I actually think McCain did him a favor but not giving people a chance to pick apart that excessive pageantry at the end that was only missing dancers out on the field and a laser light show. From the look of the TV coverage last night, it would appear that Sarah Palin's primary qualification for the job is that she's been able to reproduce. We can't blame that all on the media either, the respective campaigns were dictating the focus and style of coverage. McCain's communications people wanted that baby on camera just like Obama's people wanted teary-eyed supporters.

Sorry, I know the discussion has moved on, but what this means is that there are many emissions that do not have regulatory limits. Meaning the government will let you spew out any amount of CO2 you want (barring conditions that would cause an immediate danger to human health or the environment).

Carbon dioxide is not a regulated compound; however, some States are leaning towards recording and possibly limiting the emissions of greenhouse gasses. Illinois, for example, has started back calculating CO2 emissions based on previous emission reports and has asked industries to start calculating greenhouse gasses on their annual air emission reports.

As far as clean coal plants go, it is true that they can be much cleaner and more efficient, as far as noxious emissions and particulate matter are concerned. But the coal power companies are fighting it because its expensive to retrofit their old plants with new technology or to replace the plants with new ones. The other issue is capturing and storing carbon dioxide, which isn't cheap, easy, or tested.
