Given the abject failure of the Bush II administration, it can hardly be said that Karl Rove is a master of spin. What he is a master of is sleazy campaign tactics and character attacks.

Quote:
While resolution was pending, Dolan went (anonymously) to the Washington Post with recordings of several training seminars for young Republicans where Rove discussed campaign techniques that included rooting through opponents' garbage cans. On August 10, 1973, in the midst of the Watergate scandal, the Post broke the story in an article titled "Republican Party Probes Official as Teacher of Tricks."
At Nixon's request, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent questioned Rove. As part of the investigation, Atwater signed an affidavit, dated August 13, 1973, stating that he had heard a "20 minute anecdote similar to the one described in the Washington Post" in July 1972, but that "it was a funny story during a coffee break."[12] Former Nixon White House Counsel John Dean, who was implicated in the Watergate break-in and became the star witness for the prosecution, has been quoted as saying that "Based on my review of the files, it appears the Watergate prosecutors were interested in Rove's activities in 1972, but because they had bigger fish to fry they did not aggressively investigate him."

I submit that Rove would consider Carville a common political hack from whom he had nothing to learn.

Not sure I've ever seen you do it. Its more a general observation that came to mind at the "Dear" comment.

Some people who truly, admittedly publically hate me do it. I don't understand why.

Most often from what Ive noticed it will be something a Male Poster uses when speaking to a Female poster.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Simlies and pet names, etc when its not a Debate post, or when the people debating actually know each other are a completely a different story of course.

I don't think its much of a stretch at all.
Actually, Carville never served in the administration. He continued on as a private citizen doing other consulting work. (In fact, he hardly ever works on domestic campaigns now.)

Rove on the otherhand was given a position in Bush's whitehouse as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, so he could have access to executive branch powers to continue his hatchet jobs for Senor Arbusto.

James Carville is a strategist. Karl Rove is a professional political hitman. (And, every time I look at him I think of a potato.)

I understand you are upset, DEAR.

But I don't think you have a point, here.

Maybe you should reread what I posted.

James Carville was a star on HBO for a while, too! Remember K-Street? Now that was an interesting watch.

Please read this starting at 'Post 1992 political work' and tell me what Rove was watching for 8 years please. His work in Bolivia?

Your entire carville point falls apart because the guy never worked in the Clinton White House.

I have no love for Carville but he did a damn good job as a strategist for Clinton in '94.

I have never found it takes the edge off at all.

And often is more annoying than helpful.

My initial reaction to the post above was "Don't "Dear" me! "

But I thought it over and figured you just don't put any thought into it.

-----------------------------------------
Condescending, put you in your place, phrases like "dear" and similar drive me up the wall and probably result in a long rant. Or not. Don't feel like writing right now.

At least it didn't look like it is being used to open, lead into, a letter. I could be wrong.

You know as well as I that the Clintons fight very dirty... they WILL cut you! It is a shame Gore worked so hard to distance himself in 2000, he could have used that level of expertise against Satan Rove.

Just an observation that your comments are totally in line with your beliefs. That someone introducing Michelle Malkin's commentary is no doubt going to see democracy flowering Iraq, believe in creationism and use Socialist and Democrat in the same sentance. Take it as you will.

BTW, are you a new earth creationist?

What I believe.

I believe the Republican Party should be utterly destroyed and dismantled as it has proven itself a cancer on this country and a danger to the liberty and rights of people at home and abroad.

I believe the entire Bush administration should be taken out and shot at dawn as TRAITORS to America who sought to usurp the Constitution and Bill of Rights they were sworn to protect.

Most of their minions in the Republican Party should be dragged up before a Nuremberg style court for facilitating their crimes against this country.

Followed by half the Democrats for aiding an enemy of the United States.

I would bring back the guillotine and see how much these vile hypocrites really "fear God".

You'd have to line up Congress too for enabling them.

Why do people assume every unwanted pregnancy is the result of a complete disregard for contraception? Contraception fails and people misuse it. And some people's sexual knowledge is so slim - thanks to bizarre fears that knowledge will lead to frenzied fornication - that they do not realize the chances they are taking. And "inconvenience" is a light term for something that will change your life forever.

We just returned control of the largest province in the country to the Iraqi's yesterday, so I think that speaks for itself.
I agree with living in the present, but this seems a bit much. I don't think the ramifications of our actions in Iraq will be fully known for years to come, so looking back to all of a day or even a few months does not seem sufficient.

Ive never supported the democrats ideas of big governments and socialism and never will. Too many people have sacrificed their lives to keep this country free of communist ideals for us to give up without a whimper.
There's a difference between Communism, Socialism, and government-funded social welfare programs in a overwhelmingly capitalist society. I would think even Dick Cheney would agree with this if he hadn't died sometime in the 70s.

My only quibble..

The Guillotine is too efficient.

Now, A block and axe, and now, we're talking.

That takes several swings.

They posted the Alaska Democratic Party opposition file on her, that included her SSN excluding the last 4 digits, address, and birthday.

We should be seeing her credit score posted soon.
