My Mood: | Lets see....Would I rather have a president who bucks the system by picking the unconventional vp nominee, colors outside the lines from time to time when he doesnt agree with pork barrel spending, pushes to actually WIN a war for once, calls a spade for a spade on Putin and Russia instead of watering down what he thinks with all the PC-speak or Obama, whose past associations are shady at best;who just can't seem to shake all those acusations that he is a Muslim and a socialist; who is trying to undermine the first ammendment by trying to squelch an independent ad run by one of his 'non-worshippers' linking him to a known unrepentant terrorist by threatening stations and trying to get the justice department involved. Ahhh gotta love the smell of facism in the morning! http://michellemalkin.com/2008/08/25/obama-threatens-tv-stations-airing-ayers-ad/ Oh, and then there's Biden, telling Israel that if Obama is elected the had better 'get used to the idea of a nuclear Iran'. And THIS is who we want in charge of foreign policy? http://www.commentarymagazine.com/blogs/index.php/greenwald/24931 |

Diplomacy, with one in the
chamber...
| I would have pressed the agree button, but I don't think it is hatred. Nonetheless, there will be a push back against all the negative activity created around her. It would seem inevitable.

| About this private family matter the public should respect? Well, make room for Levi at the convention. Republicans are the big tent party - this convention is turning into a 3 ring circus. |

My Mood: | Ok, I couldn't resist. To help you out, Hope, I've broken a few things out. Please feel free to address each at your leisure. ![]() picking the unconventional vp nominee -- many would argue not just unconventional, but unqualified. A president needs to carefully weigh his decisions, and pick what is best for the country, not what is best for his political future. colors outside the lines -- again, many would argue he's an unpredictable loose cannon. See above about carefully weighing options. I want a president who is calm and rational under stress. Not a president who might decide to fly off in an unpredictable 'outside the lines' manner. Pork Barrel spending -- Quote:
Ok...I'll bite. Define 'win' as it applies to Iraq.Calls a spade a spade -- The time for Cold War brinksmanship is long past. When it comes to Russia, we can either try to get along, or try to out fight them. Which would you prefer? Bombs and Bullets, or Treaties and Toasts? As far as Obama...Malkin goes a little myopic and whack-a-doodle here. Shady past associations -- Hmm...ever heard of the Keating 5? If shady associations are a disqualifier, then maybe look at both candidates and compare..m'kay? thanks. Muslim and socialist rumors -- Those are smears that are specifically aimed by Malkin and her ilk. That would be like me arguing 'and yet you can't shut Mereille up'. The ad -- He is using our legal system to challenge what he thinks could libelous, or slanderous. The man taught constitutional law for cripes sake! He might just have an inkling of what the constitution says, ya think?

I agree, it's time for everyone to back way the hell off. The media had their free-for-all for 5 days while the GOP kept her locked away, but once she has her coming out party tonight, they need to just let her dig her own hole. Either she can take the heat in the kitchen or she can't. I also think the Republicans have no business whining about the negativity, they have used the exact same techniques with great frequency. When they stop "accidentally" using Osama in place of Obama, then they can claim the other side is being nasty.

My Mood: | picking the unconventional vp nominee -- many would argue not just unconventional, but unqualified. A president needs to carefully weigh his decisions, and pick what is best for the country, not what is best for his political future. She has a heck of a lot more experience than Obama does, and he's running for President, not vice president. In his own words, his experience has been 'running his campaign'. I hardly think 140+ days as a senator applies, since hes spent most of them on them on the campaign trail..voted present on a majority of the bills he did decide to vote on (or chose the liberal path, he does have the most liberal voting record in the Senate) . Oh yeah, he was a commitee organizer or something too wasnt he? Lets compare that with being a mayor (and the size of the town doesnt really matter, its still experience) Governor of the largest state in the union; which just happens to be right next to Russia..so she's dealt with international issues. I'd much rather have a vice president who is learning on the job than a president who I wouldn't trust with my dog, much less my country. |
