It might be fundie code too...

But if *I* were Cindy, and *I* heard him say that on national tv. The conversation when he got home would go something like this.

McCain: Honey I'm home. Have you seen my little blue pills?
Me: (sound of toilet flushing) Um...little blue pills? Why do you ask? (Tossing the empty bottle into the trash)
McCain: Hey. Why is my pillow on the couch?
I agree with Mereille's take on this one-

Flush his Viagra and put him in the dog house.

Wonder how many dog houses he owns?

Ok, since you clearly don't want to hear anyone else's explanation of how it makes sense in a bigger picture, the ball's in your court: Colette, why do you think John McCain referred to Sarah Palin as his soulmate?

P.S. Sorry - I think when I've typed your name in before I've used 2 "L"s. Mea culpa.

Bush looked into Putin's soul and found , although I think their hot cybering has come to an end. But maybe the picture with Palin amid all the fake Vikings in the bowling alley did the same for McCain.

Quote:
From 2001 in the NY Times: The Bush-Putin Summit

MR. BUSH: Well, in order for countries to come together, the first thing that must happen is leaders must make up their mind that they want this to happen. And the more I get to know President Putin, the more I get to see his heart and soul, and the more I know we can work together in a positive way.

LOL this is a silly argument

But McCain and Palin are really like a married couple now, stuck with each other for better or worse.

I am sure it was for those reasons you all are going on about ..

However, he wouldn't have used the word Soulmate if she wasn't a woman.

Period. Because like Asher said .. that would be gay.

And the reason it would be gay is because it has romantic connotations.

It comes off as him not taking her seriously.

I'm not happy for her daughter--I feel really sorry for her daughter, mainly because of who she has to put up with for a mom, and I feel sorry for the kid-to-be as well unless the child is given up for adoption where it could have a chance of growing up in a family that isn't completely fucked up. The daughter will probably not have a chance to raise the child herself nor will she probably be prepared to raise a child.

But sorry, even when looking at her daughter's situation, I still laugh--I laugh when I see SO many of the people who are trying to push that whole "holiness" crap end up seeing reality slap them in the face (usually republicans) in an almost brutal manner in the public eye. It's enough to make just about anyone happy, except for those who peddle that holiness crap and those that desperately want McCain to win.

It's like watching Brainy Smurf get tossed on his head after bragging for several minutes.

This is pretty fucking mean spirited for someone who is always posting about how he is so hurt by how people judge him.

Colette, this took all of 90 seconds with Google:

McCain Supports ‘Soul Mate’ Giuliani

Pulled quote:
His Straight Talk Express a fond memory, John McCain began a new campaign for Republican candidates Tuesday with Senate hopeful Rudolph W. Giuliani, his “soul mate” on campaign finance reform and in-your-face politics.

“We need more mild-mannered, even-tempered individuals like Rudy and myself, who will never rock the boat or say anything that’s controversial in nature,” the Arizona senator cracked during a town hall meeting at American Legion Post 694. “I look forward to having a soul mate in the United States Senate.”

I started to say the same thing, in a Coco-posting manner, but then read later that he at least attempted to clarify his remarks. I was ready to jump, too, but I'm holding judgment at the moment.

First Giuliani and now Palin? Ok, McCain is just a cheap floozy! <-- Seems really appropriate for all these Republican love fests

Please try to graciously accept that this is not uncommon. In looking, just briefly, I found (among other things) a reference to Bush and Rove being soulmates from Newsweek, 2001.

It isn't uncommon.

No, the Newsweek article is incorrect. Back in 2001 Bush and Rove had dinner together in the White House, and this included a fine red wine and a newborn infant's soul, which the shared as an appetizer.

My take... they've done the math too and if McCain wins, they're going to be praying he drops dead so they can get a President by appointment who would never be able to get elected.

If that happens and she gets to nominate to SCOTUS, I may change my mind and move to Canada. They've got issues too, but at least I can have health care.

so , which is McCains soulmate? Guiliani? or Palin?

You can only have one soulmate...or its not a soulmate.

and in the end, it doesn't matter because the "soulmate" waiting at home is gonna slice and dice him.

Palin Asks for Prayers That War Be "Task That Is From God" | The Trail | washingtonpost.com

Quote:
I can do my job there, in developing our natural resources, and doing things like getting the roads paved, and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms, their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded. But really, all that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."

Switching to the war in Iraq, Palin told the group of students that they should not only pray for men and women in the military but to make sure the leaders of this country are sending U.S. soldiers "out on a task that is from God."

Ahem.

Minor retraction: I've reworded a post to remove the less-than-kindly phrase "get a clue". It still shows up in quotes, but I've done what I can. No need for that kind of stuff...

Much as I love the mockery that has become the Palin nomination — and I do — this is what it's all about:

Quote:
McCain was rushed, got sloppy

Forget about Sarah Palin as a person. Forget about her pregnancy or her daughter's. This selection is not about them: It is about the competence and judgment of John McCain.

And on that score, McCain looks like the utterly incompetent, rash, overconfident and desperate candidate that he is. He looks like a man who figured that the normal rules don't apply to him -- that he would yet again be permitted a free pass from his party and the media because, well, he did spend those five and a half years as a prisoner of war. ...

Determined first and foremost to get it announced on Friday so as to squash Obama's convention speech/bounce, as well as to make a naked, fumbling and ultimately insulting ploy to attract disgruntled Hillary Clinton supporters simply by picking any woman, McCain chose Palin without really thinking it through. ...

The Palin selection thus epitomizes the Republican revolution -- and may well be regarded as its final, jump-the-shark moment.
