Yes I knew that marriage fell apart while he was SEPARATED and that he professed it was the one thing he felt truly sorry about in his life that he could have or should have fixed.

So a guy "cheats" (if you can call it that ) while separated and then gets a divorce and that makes him a "womanizer"???

(plus Id give them both credit for at least initially trying to make it work after such a long time away from each other, plus all the issues he may have been dealing with post internment)

I dated a really wild man-hating femme lesbian for a while who was both ultra-republican conservative AND nearly a fundie, she was so Christian. She was also deeply into BDSM in her RL. So she was like contradictions all over the map.

But a lot of people just shift to be more Conservative as they get Older, too.

Sohe is a POW , comes home, tries to make it work, and it doesn't--he should be forced to stay in a marriage that doesn't work because she is disabled?

Well since we are using the disability card---I'd say since he is also disabled it's a wash--right? I mean his badly broken leg and limp sorta even the field a bit for ya?

Not that disability should even be part of the discussion right? wer are talking marriages and relationships not caretakers and disabled.

Also look at some studies of POW's from WW II , Korea and Vietnam and divorce--heck even soldiers going to war in WWII and divorce to see that years away from family and relationship probably will lead ya to divorce unless things are extremely strong in the relationship to begin with.

My it must be great to be as perfect as all of you apparantly feel you are to judge all of this without tempering it with all of the facts and possibilities
