Not delusional BS from EITHER Party.

Lord knows, I have a problem with much GOP policy, but diminishing Sarah Palin's record is not something I'm going to be a part of.

Alaska's Gravina Island (population less than 50) will soon be connected to the megalopolis of Ketchikan (pop. 8,000) by a bridge nearly as long as the Golden Gate and higher than the Brooklyn Bridge. Alaska residents can thank Rep. Don Young, who just brought home $941 million worth of bacon.

It didn't go through, that is $941 million of taxpayers money that did not get wasted. I for one am GRATEFUL that some politicians oppose this crap, I wish there were more of them! Having 2 that have a history of defeating such waste of OUR MONEY in the White House is GREAT, as far as I am concerned.
"Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project, and it's clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island. Much of the public's attitude toward Alaska bridges is based on inaccurate portrayals of the projects here. But we need to focus on what we can do, rather than fight over what has happened." - Paulin. McCain was among the congressmen she critisized.

And then.. She dropped it due to lack of fudning.

My idea of well- or poorly-written is different from yours. And the word "brilliant" can mean a number of things.

Did you read the article? - it doesn't disagree with what Kendra said.

In fact the bit you cherry-picked out doesn't seem to agree with the context of the article.

It's a general critique of everyone's claim that she is inexperienced.

I find her as experienced as Obama --and SHE's the VP pick --NOT the POTUS pick.

It rankles me.

Political maneuvering is in itself a fact.

The difference is --I see nothing wrong with it.

Let's review here...

Sarah Palin:
Wasilla City Council: 1992 to 1996
Wasilla Mayor (A ceremonial position): 1996 to 2002
Went for Lt. Governor in 2002 and failed.
Chaired the Oil And Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004
Governor of Alaska: 2006 - Present.

Yes, I can totally see where that would be just as much politcal experience as Obama. City Council member of a town of around 9,000 for 6 years and governor of a state with a population slightly higher than Fort Worth Texas. I can see now how she's totally prepared to lead the country. That great big well of experience surely has her prepared....

Let's call a spade a spade. She was selected because McCain wanted to try and round up the Hillary supporters who are still pissed their girl didn't win the nomination. And apparently in some cases, it worked.

I am completely floored by the total disregard of Alaska as an important state.

Didn't any of you naysayers take history or geography in high school?

Alaska's population is not its only attribute.

Ah, I cut the quote short, and true, that cnn article isn't really too relevant. The quotes seem to be in their best form on Alaskan government website, and sadly was on a page since been taken down and is only accessible through google cache.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin

She criticized those that didn't let the funding go through as she conceded the project. Sounds like she cut her losses after failing to get that big fat check. I guess not building a bridge one couldn't afford is some gracious triumphant feat worthy of praise, unless I'm interpreting her quotes wrong?

I didn't get that from that article at all.

It sounds almost like you had a bias when reading it.

I doubt it will work much on that angle. Abortion rights are an important issue for a lot of women, and I doubt many Hillary supporters, however alienated they feel, would vote for a pro-life ticket, even with a female candidate.

While probably true, the Republicans may not have seen it that way.

For them to choose a Woman probably did have something to do with Hillary running this year.

Choosing this woman though, wouldn't have only been about that.
