Of course Christians also believe that God wont accept those who haven't accepted Christ into the afterlife

So its possible they feel "fighting the good fight" is actually in everyone's eternal best interest.

I think this is a bit close minded. Why would God care if people are Christian or not?

As much as I do enjoy these talks about religion and spirituality, they always seem to break down when people claim to know something to be the truth. The only truth, far as I can tell, is that none of us can know for absolute certain whether a higher power exists or not. Even using logic, you might say that it is most probable that there is not a god as far as the god with a white beard and robe is portrayed. But that would be probable and not fact. In the end, it seems, we are all agnostic, none of us knowing for certain.

OK. Back to lunch.

I think it is instinctual, or something close. And I think it has something to do with the degree to which people must communicate in some manner, although I can't quite figure out what I am trying to say...which seems ironic. But at the moment I was asking "please", it was as close to description as prayer as I have come. I was mentally on my knees, completely humbled and powerless. The answer was "no, sorry, you are screwed" (), but I could see feeling some gratitude had the answer been "yes", in the same vague, undirected way I felt like I was asking "please" to start with.

Or maybe I am making no sense as that image is still f'ing with my head....

Ok so I ate lunch. Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Loved it.

I thought about this silly debate, and I decide I still dont see the difference in the two terms.

So either go for the TKO or tell me I'm right.

Beau I think you can turn this thread around in your favour if you tell us you ate your taco at Hooters.

The reason you cant see the difference is you wont think of the possibility God does not exist when you read them.

--------------

Basically

"God made me do it"

VS.

"I did what I did because of God."

------------------

The second one COULD mean the same as the first ...

But it could also mean

"I did what I did because I **believe in** God"

Here is the PG version, in respect for your firewall, of the story behind the image:

A healthy young woman had a pet octopus she loved. One day, she decided the octopus, named "Petey", needed a bath. As bathing an octopus is wet, tricky work, she got undressed and took Petey with her in the shower. She carefully set Petey down by the loofa and turned to pick up her lavender-scented body wash when suddenly she slipped on the soap! And fell! On the very slippery-because-he-is-an-octopus Petey! And for reasons that completely escape me, her BF ran in and snapped the picture.

And that's the story I am sticking in my head.

Nah, I'm tracking with ya - it's that moment where you realize that as smart as you are personally, as able as we are as a species, and as advanced as we are as a culture, it means fuck-all when the shit hits the fan.

If its real, it is a picture of bestiality with an Octopus

With the Octopus head-first.
