When a Foucault pendulum is suspended at the equator, the plane of oscillation remains fixed relative to Earth. At other latitudes, the plane of oscillation precesses relative to Earth, but more slowly than at the pole; the angular speed, ω (measured in clockwise degrees per sidereal day), is proportional to the sine of the latitude, φ:

What I am hearing here, is that I can disprove the round earth by making a video at the Equator of the lack of spin and posting it to my JUST TRUE FACTS ONLY Youtube channel.

Meanwhile, a selfie from atop Mt Everest proves its round, because its pretty freaking obvious from that high up.

I asked a flat earther why the flat earth isn't crushed into a sphere by gravity. He didn't believe in gravity either.

I would have tripped him until it made a believer of him.

Well I asked, if there's no gravity, how did you fall on your head so hard as a child. But he said I had to resort to insults because I have no argument and then muted me.

Should have asked him to explain why everything falls down instead of up. I bet his answer would have been "because god".

So living on the equator could be an excuse for being a flat-earther ?

At least they're on the map.

My country has, at times, been omitted from maps.

Too bad there is not a comments section as they would have been fun for once. I shared it though as I am sure I will get some ... interesting .... reactions.

From the vids I have seen typically when you believe one conspiracy theory you are inclined to believe in others. For that one I think the standard explanation is magnets or everything is accelerating up.

Aaaactually...they are not even half wrong about our common maps being actually wrong in terms of distance and relatives sizes
I am just not sure it's what they were actually referring to.

EDUCATIONAL VIDEO TIME GO (Excuse the BuzzFeed, but this one's entertaining):

EDIT:
A fun site is https://thetruesize.com/ where you can select countries and drag them over the map to see how they change size depending on position.

See, "gravity" is just due to the giant magnet used by the lizard people, who are currently carrying the Disc Earth on the back of their space ship. Its easier to abduce us all than one by one, while they work to enslave us in their workforce.

The Earth has been traveling to their homeworld this way for a few hundred years. The abduction coencides with the invention of Electricity, which is just Induction in all of the Earth's metLs, caused by the giant magnet.

Neat. Brazil looks huge up at the top of the map. It is huge, but up there? Really huge. US? Is funny the shape it distorts to when moved to top of earth.

I had a globe without New Zealand xD .

I do find bathroom laws quite silly as was born in Poland where you usually had one bathroom option anyhow and no one cared if there was more and you went to supposedly wrong one. Polish people do not form orderly queues. Especially mean and ginger ones who are pint sized ... *coughs* Yeah ... I hate queues.

UK does not care much either but I do recall a total of one woman stopped in Edinburgh and she deserves mention for one reason - her name is River Song. Yup. Not a nickname. It turned out precisely same as if you stopped other River Song from going anywhere.

It is very silly. And not at all well thought out on the laws either.

And US maps don't accurately show the shoreline anymore, either. Rising waters and all that.

Well, if you had a REALLY old globe/map maybe. Although the last couple of globes we had came with updates so when politics changed boundaries and country names you would stay semi-current.

For most places the shoreline is not that drastic of a change over a few decades though. There are a few places it will be more drastic, like florida, but they have not hit the resolution of a globe/map yet.

edit: I am assuming you are talking about one that would show all of the US. Ignore if you meant one that would show just one city of such.

I've been to Finland and can confirm it does exist. However, I understand the confusion. During the winter it is so damned cold the entire landmass shrinks to the size of a walnut.

So, does that mean that Venus hasn't really contributed anything meaningful and only Mars has ? Is that why all of our space exploration is focused on Mars nowadays ?

Not all. Venus Express (ESA) finished a mission there recently, and Akatsuki (Japan) is there now. The main reason we haven't explored Venus much is the surface temperature is hotter than an oven (872 F/467 C), the pressure is 92 atmospheres, equal to our oceans 1000 meters down, and it has sulfuric acid clouds. The conditions are a fair imitation of Hell.

Venus is what happens when you have a runaway Greenhouse Effect. The atmosphere is 96.5% CO2. It is an object lesson for us. Earth actually has as much carbon as Venus, but most of it is locked up as Limestone (Calcium Carbonate, CaCO3).
