Why the hell wouldn't I trust them? All MM does is post verbatim transcripts and audio/video of MSM misinformational broadcasts. I do not see ANY thirdhand opinions proffered in their process. What bias is there to agree or disagree there? And since there is no opinion, the suggestion is that they must be altering what they present. That is pure bullshit.

And here we come to my core point... how do you know?

Now they may very well do this, but show me where I can cross-check the information they presented about the Fox story.

If I can't cross-check it, I may consider it, but I'm not going to believe it unquestioningly.

The information on that website isn't evidence, it's an assertion. If you were to take it to court, you would have to present original videoclips that could be verified as untampered with.

Media Matters isn't some fly by night operation, some fringe website. As Cindy herself pointed out, it has rather powerful people behind it.

Which is why the mainstream media is well aware of it and had they doctored or tampered with videos or transcripts they would be all over them like white on rice.

Just want to add something. It's "right/left wing shill". Not "shrill".

Shill - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just sayin'.

I should know better than to try and argue a philosophical point in a thread where passions are high.

I don't really give a shit-house rat's ass about Fox. And, I have MM on my regular cruise-by list.

Nevertheless, I don't trust what I can't verify. And frankly, I think a healthy skepticism about anything one reads/watches in the media is a good thing.

Is that so difficult to get?

First, my passions aren't anywhere near high, I think you know my posting well enough to tell, Surreal.

Second, there is a point at which someone or something earns your trust or you don't believe anything you read or hear.

Which brings us back to the topic at hand, in a circular fashion.

A so-called news station, that does not correct stories when the sources tell them what they don't want to hear, that does the kind of lame photoshops children do on people it does not like, and so forth, is not the kind of "news" you can trust, period. No organization that wants to be taken seriously would allow such nonsense under any heading, pundit or whatever and it is NOT the norm for cable news, at all.

for those of you who are gamers, and do not agree with the policies of Fox News...

do not buy games from Direct 2 Drive. they are owned by the same company. if you buy a game from them, you are, in a way, responsible for paying Bill O'Riley's salary, as well as guest spots by Ann Coulter.

please purchase your online games from Steam.

this is a public service announcement from Gamers For Change. "Changing the way you play, one tangent at a time."

I appreciate your sentiment Veng, but avoiding any business with a News Corp entity is going to be quite difficult (speaking as a Wall Street Journal subscriber and occasional The Simpsons viewer )

i am working on canceling all of my News Corp related accounts. putting my money where my mouth is, as it were. this is, mostly for my own piece of mind (as i know one person boycotting them is kinda like shooting a BB gun at a tank.)

(in addition, i'm missing a lot of my favorite shows. it sucks, but i feel better when i think about Bart Simpson hugging Ann Coulter. yick!)

I'm just on my quick lunch time drive by, and don't have time to read the last few pages, so if the arguments progressed to something else...ehhh, sorry

But the photo's in question look just like a bad editing job to me.

I don't know what causes it, but I was watching a video last night, which was a collection of photo's, and they all were stretched vertically. The photo's in the fox video appear the same.

Seems ethier Fox or MM just need to hire someone with a tad more skill.

Edit: If it helps, I could post the video later, just no time at the moment

That explains why my download of Mass Effect won't install.

But on the other hand, Steam fucking sucks. I mean, COMPLETELY sucks. I refuse to use them - I'd rather buy the box from Best Buy.

I am banning you for pointing this out. I discovered that Direct2Drive and Hulu, two of my favorite sites on the web, are owned by News Corp. Even so, I will continue to support those sites, and to not support FoxNews. I like Fox and FX, and watch both regularly - just not their joke of a "news" channel.

PS - that reminds me - Direct2Drive does something that I absolutely love, which is that it lets you redownload stuff you have purchased from them - everything I have ever bought is still in my account available for download. I freaking hate digital download sites that won't let you redownload stuff you have purchased (yes, I'm looking at you, piece of shit iTunes) - it is also something I love about Amazon Unbox and the XBOX 360 - when I switched from an XBOX 360 to an XBOX 360 Elite, I was able to redownload all of digital purchases easily.

When did I say that? At least when I call someone a name I own it, I don't try to pass off me being a fucktarded bitch like some misrepresentation or misunderstanding of my opinion.
