Help, the country's on fire!

So what with all the bad weather in Texas and Florida, we've all but forgotten the fact that nearly the entire western US is currently on fire.

Many places have smoke so thick, it's unsafe to be outside. I have friends in Montana who can't see across the street because of the smoke from fires raging in the state.

Same in Oregon.

Los Angeles is on fire, which is probably a good thing, but it's still wiping out people's homes.

Just food for thought, I guess. Hurricanes aren't the only thing we're facing right now, yet FEMA has to stretch what little money it has (thanks Trump) to help people out in the south eastern part of the country.

Oh, and don't get me started on the fact that our illustrious shit-gibbon-in-Chief hasn't bothered to send condolences or prayers to the good people of Mexico.

My coworker's family has lost their home.

Okay rant over.

NSW RFS battles to save homes, as bushfires take hold on hot, windy day - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

https://www.dailysabah.com/europe/20...ol-evacuations

This is "every year" in Australia. There's a lot of plants in Australia that depend on regular bushfires to germinate, so basically every part of the outback needs to burn now and then to stay healthy.

In Sydney, when I was a kid, we'd routinely have bushfire and smoke warnings multiple times a summer.

NASA was all WTF about this kind of imagery until they figured it out.

It's uncanny how both of these threads start with basically the same statement.

Forgive me. Other Half had the accident and I'm operating on less than a couple hours of sleep a night since the end of September. Cris, delete my latest thread.
