From what I hear, its a video and is supposed to be released today.

It is supposedly a tape of Mrs. Obama from one of the services at Rev Wright's church where she is rallying against "whitey". That's the most I could glean from the blogs, most of which are just repeating the bombshell story with no details.

There are some conservative writers that discount this idea of a bombshell video. I have a feeling this is much ado about nothing or we would have seen the video by now.

First, the rumor-mongers claimed, Obama appeared on tape with Louis Farrakhan. Now, the rumor is that the tape comes from this event where she appeared with Mrs. Farrakhan at a Rainbow/PUSH conference in 2004 ...

First, the rumor-mongers claimed, she said “whitey” on the tape. Now, the rumor is that she’s saying “why’d he” (referring to George Bush).

First, the rumor-mongers claimed, the “bombshell” would be released on Monday. Then it was yesterday. Now, it’s tomorrow.

So, where’s the stupid tape? Maybe The Spitter should check Al Capone’s vault again:

All sorts of buffoons are hyping the story, the effect of which will be to undermine all legitimate criticism of Michelle Obama.

To all of you who keep bugging me about this subject, please stop sending me e-mail. Until and unless anyone actually produces a video, I’m not going to mention it again.

I'd be fine with Clinton ending up in the VP slot, and I think it would be beneficial in as many ways as not. I don't like that she seems to be angling to demand that it be given to her. I was not an Obama supporter to begin with. I just didn't know much about the guy. What won me over to him is his graciousness, and lack of graciousness is what's turned me off of Clinton. What I'd most like to see is for Hillary to finally show some, and to show me that she's more concerned about the future of the country and the Democratic party than she is about her own sense of entitlement. I thought father Pfleger's tirade was inappropriate and obnoxious, but I don't think he was really all that far off the mark.

I'd like to see Hillary put the lie to that perception, and to do what a gracious second place finisher should do - step back, congratulate the winner, give him the freedom to create the ticket he wants, and to support it full force whether she's on it or not. If she doesn't do that, and the Dems end up losing in November, her career in politics is finished. If she does the right thing now she can run again and cast herself as a tenacious fighter who knows when to put the best interests of the nation above her own.

the written idea was something like:
Why did he do or not do

what was said was:
why'd he do or not do

What you are supposed to hear:
whitey do or not do

I would be disappointed if he chose Clinton as running mate because of all of the nastiness that has happened between them up to now. It would feel like he was only pandering to her supporters for votes. Personally, I'd much rather see an Obama/Edwards ticket as I think both of those gentlemen have a certain graciousness & vision.

I am not so sure that a Black President would have been so unthinkable 12 years ago. In 1984 and again in 1988, Jesse Jackson made credible runs for the Presidency. In 1988, he could conceivably have won the nomination. As it was he finished second to Dukakis. (This would be Jesse Jackson Sr., not his son Jesse Jackson Jr. who is now a Congressman from Obama's home town of Chicago.) As far back as 1976, a Black woman ran for President: Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm.

No he can't actually. No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of the President can be Vice President. Just because the term limit for Presidents not applying to that of Vice Presidents has never been tested doesn't mean it won't be thrown out if it did happen.
