Hey hey....you can't say that, though. Those are Minnesota cops. What catches bass in Virginia at this time of year isn't necessarily what catches them in Arizona, etc. There's regional variations, weather conditions to consider, stuff like that.

As an aside, I absolutely hate, with a purple passion, websites with auto-playing videos. But this site has done the unthinkable: Not only did it have a video that started autoplaying when the page loaded, but, when I paused it and started scrolling down to read the text, the video popped up at the bottom of the window and started playing again!

Eeek! Sorry - it's my personal habit at sites like CBS to immediately hit Reading Mode when I load an article, so sometimes I forget about dickery like that. CBS isn't the only one that pulls it, but they're one of the top offenders.

Unrelated to the topic but the thread preview shows "Eeek! Sorry - it's my pe..." and my mind is in the gutter.

I agree wholeheartedly. If you use Chrome there are two extensions that help with this Disable HTML5 Autoplay and FlashControl. They are not perfect unfortunately. There are a couple of rare sites such as CNET sites which they don't block. And they sometimes block sites I want even when I disable them for the site. Those are pretty rare instances though. For some reason, embedded Youtube videos now take three clicks instead of one. Life is better with the extensions than without them. They killed the autoplay on the link above no problem.

Dude... I've been a stoner longer than you've been alive. I'm all too familiar with that scene. I'm telling ya, they're using the wrong bait. Munchies aren't just chips and soda. Never has been, never will be. Just ask Free Wheelin Frank.

DC is changing their driving licenses from saying District of Columbia to Washington DC. This is because there are people too dumb to figure out that the former is a place.

Quote:
The appearance of the cityís formal name on licenses since 2013 has been blamed for confusion, with reports of concessions staff at sporting events, clerks at liquor stores and even airport screeners apparently thinking denizens of the nationís capital were presenting identification from Colombia or some other distant land.

Israeli man charged for threats against US Jewish schools, community centers

Quote:
An 18-year-old man living in Israel left scores of messages graphically describing children's deaths in calls to Jewish community centers and schools across the United States, using an online calling service to disguise his voice as a woman and hide his identity, according to a federal indictment filed Friday in Florida.

A month after his arrest in Israel, Michael Ron David Kadar was charged with 28 counts of making threatening calls and conveying false information to police, according to the indictment filed Friday in federal court in Orlando.

The Florida indictment said that Kadar made 245 threatening calls, most of them to Jewish community centers and schools, from January to March, using an online calling service that disguised his voice and allowed him to hide his identity. He recorded each of the calls himself and kept them in organized files at his home in Ashkelon, Israel, along with news articles describing the police responses to the threats, the indictment said.

He also paid for the online calls using the semi-anonymous currency Bitcoin. A large antenna at his apartment building allowed him to make long-distance, outdoor wireless connections, the indictment said.

"Fresh Horizons bread has far more fiber than whole wheat bread". They had to take it off the market when it was found out the fiber was wood pulp.

bread isn't the only thing that contains wood pulp these days... it's popular as an absorbent and as a stabilizer in a lot of things, mostly labeled as cellulose still

It is commonly used in shredded cheese. Someone commented that a way to avoid that is to buy blocks instead of shredded and make America grate again.

Yee. Get damn chainmail gloves if have to (yes those are a thing and they work), the difference is so shockingly YOOJ for something you would have assumed would be pretty hard to screw up.

How ironic. I was chatting this evening about grating blocks of mozzerella at my second job with my Norwegian friend. We have one of those old, massive, upright Hobart mixers, and the handle broke on the "pelican head" impeller thing, a few months back. The owner is too miserly to replace it, so we've been just pushing a closed-fist into the impeller hopper, with brute force, ever since. My shoulders and upper arms actually ache from it, tonight.
