Talking Naked people in ads

So I've read that you have to mark pics of naked people as NSFW and display them only as hyperlinks.

What about the New Products listings forum? If you covered your naked model with giant hearts, kittens and flowers would that be permitted to be attached to the listing post? Or is it best to leave the image portion blank and just stick the ad as a link in the post's description?

gosh this new prudishness... <.< It's really annoying. What's wrong with nudity anyways?

Silly stupid exaggerated regulations, where even the common name for the bird family of Paridae is NSFW, where male birds in general are NSFW, where the name of an Austrian village is considered NSFW ... and the other word for Gender, and and and... YAWN

Send them those regulators into abbeys, have them become monks and nuns

Thank you for your deeply insightful comments, eightdwarf. It has nothing to do with prudeness, it has to do with basic consideration for others viewing the site, as well as a host policy against porn.

As far the original question, you can cover up various parts and it is acceptable, though if in doubt, just link to the product image.

I do a lot of SLU browsing from work and I, for one, am glad that I don't have to rush to shut a page down because of a close up of pink bits. Internet browsing in an open layout office space is beset with perils!

And after all, the W in NSFW does stand for work. So thanks for the consideration Cris

A little off topic, but I really ask myself how many people are not working (surfing SLU) when they are (should be) working?

I understand the problem when you are surfing on a train trip or in a restaurant, but at work?

I think it's pretty common for people to browse forums during lunch breaks and things like that.

I work in a high tech office where our job is building web sites, so I'm one click away from SLU pretty much any time of the day.

On a day when I'm busy and everything is working properly, I only browse for entertainment during lunch hour and breaks. On a day in which I'm waiting for my next task to be assigned, a server is down, I'm waiting on a reply from a client before I can proceed with the task at hand, I may spend considerably more time on SLU.

Some people's jobs may be an assembly line of never-ending stacks of incoming tasks, but not everyone has that kind of steady work flow.

Most of my posts are done from work. When I'm at home, I'm usually too busy with SL to pay mind to the forums. (^_^)y

I can't use SLU in work, even on breaks. Company policy blocks all forums, blogs, web mail, and any other website that has a login facility for any reason. It's part of the company data protection policy - someone was caught sending out customers credit card numbers.

Pretty much the only sites I can use at work are business related. Highways agency, motor vehicle manufacturers sites, regional police forces, DVLA, traffic news and weather. *yawns*

Tapatalk.

It's the way I keep up with SLU when I'm on interminably long business trips and stuck in a car for hours while someone else drives.

we've just always covered up bits with a star with ad posters to make them worksafe. Cristiano has never objected.

I browse the internet on my break. I work in an elementary school. Naked people on the screen is just a bit taboo.

Of course I could wait till I got home, but sometimes I don't have much else to do on my breaks.

I sometimes go on forums in my breaks, but usually I end up doing paperwork instead. -_-

But yeah, I appreciate the lack of nudity, since I have nosy coworkers who don't grasp the concept of privacy.
