I have replaced the tag cloud on the right sidebar with your buddy list. Unfortunately, many people browse invisibly, so you won't see everyone on your list, but you will see when those that are not invisible that you have exchanged friendship wit. There is also a button to PM them.

As a reminder, you can manage your friends list through Contacts and Friends in your User CP. There is also a link on the Quick Links menu.

Cristiano - does this only show the buddies who are on line, or is it supposed to show all of them? Because, it has only been showing one person for me, the same person all day.

Also, when I click on the header "Buddies" in the box I presume it wants to take me to my buddy list - but I just get a blank page.

Cristiano, I think it might be a good idea to assign a default friend to every user. You know, like Jon on Plurk. And make it un-defriendable.

I fixed the link - it correctly goes to the screen to edit your buddy list. You only have a few people on your friends list, so it is not surprising you only saw 1 person - it only shows who is currently online, and only if they don't browse invisibly.

So this means as I am a tad lazy that people need to add me to their buddy list.

You can add someone to your buddy list by clicking on their name on a post and selecting Add to Contacts from the menu. You have the option to add them as a contact or a friend. The difference is that a contact is a one way relationship - it will add them to your buddy list, but it does not add you to their list of friends, or you to theirs. If you choose to add them as a friend, it will send a notification to them to approve. Adding as a contact does not require approval.

Some functionality in the forums, like the blogs and user profiles can be restricted to friends only. Adding a user as a contact will not give you access to anything they have marked friends only.

You can also add someone by clicking on the link at the top of the buddy list.
