As a reminder, the majority of users actually see the site with a dark background. I am noticing a trend of people using dark purple and dark blue in signatures and elsewhere, and it is difficult to read. Please use colored text sparingly. If you are unsure how something looks, you can switch between the themes on the fly using the dropdown at the bottom left.

If we just use the 'default' regular old text with the exception of bolding and such we should be immune right?

Then there's people that use light colors that are impossible to read on the blue scheme.

Yes, if you leave the color unadjusted, it is fine - it is black on the blue theme, and white on the dark theme.

For those of you that are not already aware of this little tidbit:

If you can detect that the text is there at all, dragging your cursor over it will highlight it (reverses the background and foreground colors) making the text visible.

This has been a public service announcement.

Sometimes it seems like that's being done on purpose - to make it very difficult for those not "in the know" to see the message hidden there.

I'd just like to point out that if you use Bright Red, Font Size 7, with the Arial Black Font, Bolded, you can read it on any background.

I'd like to see support for [blink] or [marquee] built in, however.

I thought you fixed the dark skin so colors don't show up to begin with?
