| left blank ![]() | Yet another SL viewer client (mainly, but not only OS X) Hi guys, Some of you might like Emerald. Others might like Snowglobe. I've got customised versions of both viewers for you -- my so called Frequency Editions ![]() Personally, I'm an OS X person. But I've got a contributor for Windows as well (Snowglobe only). So we can get things going now. The projects are young, but I've worked on them behind the scenes for a while. And first releases are already out. Maybe you want to check it out: Frequency Edition SL Viewers And maybe a Linux person raises their hand shouting "yes, I want to support you!" some day... ![]() Cheers Sean

My Mood: | Hi Sean! Just a heads up, we internally had a Snowglobe version of Emerald in testing for a few weeks (It's what I personally have used myself for the time, and I mostly make sure our Emerald trunk and Emerald snowglobe branches are in sync), and we might release it soon as a Beta based on our latest release. So, soon you'll only have to maintain/develop your additions without having to worry about keeping Snowglobe and Emerald merged :3 The plan is to release Snowglobe and plain versions of Emerald in parallel, since Snowglobe does not work on other grids (as the mapping system changed hard internally) Patching your Frequency changes onto each and also releasing both types for the gridnaut folks should be no problem, if you'd like to do that.

![]() Thanks for the positive Feedback, Johnnie!! ![]() Meanwhile, someone has contributed a binary build for Linux, too. Might save you the trouble of compiling it in the future (if he's willing to compile future versions, too). @Chalice: Although we took some futures from Emerald (and others), we are not intending to become a full Emerald clone. But thanks for that pointer anyway. And, nothing personal, but I prefer to work with the official source (that is Linden Lab's) as a base in general, rather than with the modified original source, where I put more modifications on top. Even more so, as Emerald hasn't got a publicly accessible source repository. So I can't stay up to date with changes while they happen, but have to wait for weeks and deal with a whole bunch of changes at the same time. But again: Thanks for that tip!

![]() Didn't know you were using the original source as the base. Hokay, that makes sense then! Good luck with Frequency, and keep up your work :3 Diversity is everything. (Unless we approach Linux Distribution diversity >_>)
