Tough love, Brenda. Tough love!

Chickens taste yummy, but they don't fly well! Nah, I'll settle down a bit and think about "What I Want To Do With My SLIfe".

I shared your concerns about "ripping people off" or seeming unoriginal. I wasn't much of a blog reader, so I tool a look. Nobody is original, it's all basically the same. It's kind of like music. There are only 12 notes to work with. All a blog is is a place to get up on your soapbox and say what you want, that's all. Look at the drivel I'm putting up. It has to be important only to you.

I say go for it, start with a basic layout, you will change later on if need be. As for what to write, the first post is hard, but after that, ideas will pop into your head at all hours. Just your beautiful pictures alone are blog worthy.

How about calling it "Little Left Unsaid?"

We need a hug button too!

But I can't deny that I am more passive than most ppl. I never volunter for something that might put me in the spotlight. What do I fear most, to be laughed at and made fun of, or praise and compliments? Both.

I've been like this since I was a kid, and we could discuss the reasons behind, but this is not the right place. Some ppl walk slowly into the water, others jump in. With this speed I might swim before Halloween!

Business: None as of _yet_... workin on it.
I'm a johnny-come-lately to SL wordpress blogging, so I can commiserate with the feeling of, 'but what if everyone's already done this...' I guess I look at it like this: if you watch the same news story being reported on Fox vs CNN, they're going to see different elements as key. Your viewpoint is yours and and yours alone... it won't be the same as someone else's.

I don't have a consistent enough blog that it will ever likely take off or be popular.. and I'm ok with that. It mostly consists of posts that are focused on a specific sim, and things related to it: urban/grunge fashion, erotic stories, scene reviews, tips on how to role-play, articles for the sim magazine, that sort of thing. I do it mostly for myself; if someone else gets something out of it, awesome! (And yeah, I'll admit, I love seeing an activity spike when I mention in the group chat that I've posted something.)

I guess what I'm trying to say, in my own rambling way, is - do this for you. If YOU are happy.... then you have success.

I thought you deserved an update, right?

No. It is a sad update. RL is so totally absorbing my "playtime" now, it really isn't fun. I could write a lot, but I can't that either. No time to write a long post!

I logged into SL yesterday, and it was madly slow. I was a shop on mainland, and it couldn't rez for me, I couldn't change hair and so I logged off quick and went to bed so I could be rested and well today.

I am so stressed now that "my dream" has returned. It is a dream without pictures, only sound. The sound of my alarmclock. So 0417 AM I was sitting upright in my bed, grabbing the clock, and then I realized that it wasn't ringing. It was just that dream again... second time this week. I don't need a psychiatrist to tell me I am stressed. I fell to sleep just before my alarmclock was ringing -for real- so I guess there's a bad time to start something new, like a blog.

But you have given me so much great input, and I am overwhelmed by the support I got. If I will start a blog, I just go back and read these threads, so it's not wasted.

hiya marianne..how's your blog going on? I can't wait to see all the pictures.

I've been a blogger in RL far too long i guess. I write too much. I used Wordpress because my RL office has banned blogspot Anyway I start using wordpress for my SL life even before the banning. If you don't mind the pre-fix layout and template..wordpress is really good. I like it because it allow me to categorize and tag. I think a few fashion feeds can capture your entry based on the specific tag. Beside it can host my pictures too without me have to put it somewhere else first. I know now blogspot can do this too.

if you love to use customize template..blogspot is the best. the only think i don't like most of them have really small column size for writting space...and i write too much.

hmm as for the tittle.. "A lot of little". This title really make you want to stop and read for a while.

p/s: i'm thinking on changing my blog title...hmm

Bloggers post much the same stuff, even if they write that they "just discovered" shops like Zaara and League. I think I'm overcritical and put too much into it.

I think that maybe blogging isn't going to be fun for me, if I shall have all the posts thought over a billion times so I might not accidentally copy something somebody wrote 6 months ago.
I think you shouldn't worry about "copying" someone. Even if I have seen something featured in another blog, seeing it on a different avatar with different styling and a different color and different pics keeps it interesting. And your pictures and styling are DEFINITELY unique and special. I'm all the time "discovering" shops that everyone else knew about, and that's ok too. Blog for your own enjoyment. For the joy of finding a new little place and wanting to share it. For taking pics and playing in photoshop. That is the fun of blogging. If you get caught up in the "ZOMG MUST BLOG FIRST" race, it's just really time consuming and draining. And in my case, disappointing, because I am slower at things than most people, and many times I'm out of the loop.

I'm sorry RL is keeping you from this. Maybe you can start a look-of-the-day blog to play around with for now? Posting once or twice a week doesn't take much time, and you can start to get your feet wet.
