Hi folks

I have long felt a lack of syndication for blogs that deal with home & garden - releases, reviews, etc. and decided to give syndicating them in one collector feed a try.

The feed can be viewed here: HG Feed

What I'm looking for is blogs to syndicate during this test run so I can get a better idea of what i should be prepared for bandwidthwise. If all goes well, I will continue running the feed and hopefully we can get a bit of a community going

If you're interested, please either drop me a line here or via IM with a link to your Home and/or Garden related SL blog. It's a chance for some free publicity, particularly if the idea takes off.

(Suggestions as far as trademark policy compliant feed titles would also be appreciated!)

Wow, you got Gregarius to show images. How did you do it? I imagine it probably just worked and I am encountering some bizarre issue.

I found out i just needed to get my RSS to run the full article, instead of the summary. I then had to get it to reload its cache... and images showed up fine after that. I had a similar issue with Moonmoon, actually.... but decided to go with Gregarious since it has more admin and config options, and seems to be a bit easier to deal with, as far as CSS is concerned.

Edit: the one thing i think you might want to check is if the allowed tags list includes img in the config area. That's the only other thing i can think would be an issue.

But feel free to integrate it in whatever way seems best to you, I'm happy either way!

how about blogs that might do reviews of home and garden shops as well as clothing shops? I had an idea to turn my blog into such a thing -- now i do mostly fashion but i'm a sucker for home and garden stores and there's about 5 i could review right now

It must be related to the individual feed - I added Aisuru's and it worked fine, and then Logan's doesn't show the pictures (I noticed you have the same issue). I wonder what the difference is between the two?

@ Vivianne: To be honest my criteria is... does a major part of the blog's content fit with the type of content a home and garden magazine might include?

I don't think the occasional off-topic post is remiss, but it might be difficult to keep the feed on topic if i can't figure out some way of filtering out posts by search. Some blog services allow for specific tags to show up as RSS feeds... Wordpress offers a few plugins that spit out RSS Feeds of only one or two tags, for instance. I am not sure whether Blogspot does though.

In any case, I would look forward to seeing review posts, but am currently at a loss as far as how to keep the feed on topic without alienating multi-topic blogs or having to constantly flag your non-topic stuff for exclusion. I'll keep looking though... maybe a solution is out there.

I ended up moving my store-blog over to blogspot.com, I couldn't find a way to make wordpress actually send the full articles. I found a few discussions that say if you host it on your own server and use their scripts it's possible, but couldn't find a way to do it through a blog hosted at wordpress.com (either that or all the themes I tried were not set up right?)
