Inworldz PhysX progress

I am so going to build a massive pinball table when physics are here.

I don't think I'll beat Tranq's multiball record though.

lol... this post was meant to be taken as a progress report rather than an entry into the grid brag arena. Apologies for not making this clearer.

Anytime anyone mentions another grid it is going to turn into a competition or war, it seems. Maybe there shouldn't even be a forum for talking about other grids because it always seems to became a mess when anyone tries to use it.

But this isn't on their grid yet, its just someone playing with their own system in the basement. Get back to us when they have something on their grid we can see. I won't be holding my breath waiting for it, its been 'just around the corner' for the last 3 years.

Well, no, because ... I clearly posted with a different motivation to you, and shall continue to do so. I did have a look at your updated thread and am pleased to see your concerns addressed. I also note you appear to be coming at this from a position of knowledge. The kind of knowledge that has no influence when expressed so rudely to a stranger (me). Classy! If I post back it isn't to try and market Inworldz to you - I suspect you wouldn't 'fit in' there anyway.

Grid wars are great, we all slag SL off, very often for good reason but having discussions about other grids does remind us just how good SL is.

Sometimes its easy to forget that all these small pioneering grids are working around the clock only to achieve what was done in SL almost a decade ago.

If people don't want to hear about anything doing on with other grids, why would someone bother to come into the forum-especially made for discussion of other grids? It seems as if any time someone posts in these fora others come in for no other reason than to troll. So some people enjoy other grids, why is that so terrible or so laughable? Why is someone called a fangirl or fanboy for simply wanting to talk about enjoying a grid? It's as if people are thought of as somehow traitors or stupid for spending time on smaller grids.

Someone stating what is going on with a grid-without attacking another one-is NOT grid war. I saw no statement by the OP that InWorldz is better than other grids. I saw no attacking of other grids. Why the snark? Why the hatin'?

Yes, we know these grids are small and aren't as advanced. Actually, that is something that some of us enjoy about them.

I don't have anything against any grid (there was one I had issues with because of ethics, but it's now defunct). I don't care what grids anyone spends time on. If they enjoy themselves, then that is wonderful. There is room for everyone, in my opinion.

Leave inworldz alone... They will figure out physics eventually some day.... Till then ill just use Avination for OS stuffs where we have almost SL quality physics now, or go on SL its self. No reason to bash any grids here. If you dont like it run your own gird and write your own physics and tell me how easy it is

There really isn't any need to bash any grid. Of course there is the urge to fight back when someone starts bashing, but it really doesn't do anyone any good. All it is is trolling unless someone can come up with concrete proof of something illegal or unethical. That is different than just going "nah nah nah..my grid is better than your grid"-which is childish schoolyard crap, and the schoolyard crap is usually what it ends up to be. It's the same thing when people bash any grid-including Avination,

This is a progress report.
To show the current state of the art at Inworldz.

Grow the FUCK up and keep it technical, your snotty pissing contest isn't appropriate here.

Maturity or GTFO.

I don't think anyone actually hates other grids, but there is nothing wrong with criticising them or their progress on a public forum.

"Oh, DOPEGRID gets X objects per Y seconds, well FUCKWADGRID gets a zillion times that, per second, because they remember to reverse the polarity of the inverse thrusters" <<valid criticism

"lol DOPEGRID is full of poopy heads because they run their servers in a garbagecan with oscar the grouch while they lick butts" <<juvenile bullshit.

It's not required to learn or obey the difference, but jesus CHRIST it would make reading "other grids" a lot less tiring...

Just out of interest, do most of the people in Avination and InWorldz split their time between these other grids and Second Life or have most left SL for good.

Need someone who used work on pinball machines in RL and has designed a virtual one in the program called "Visual Pinball" to help out?
(chuckle)

Yeah I'm thinking of it as well.

Well, Cris, I've never had the opportunity to play Little Big Planet, I'm afraid I'm unable to comment on or ascertain it's "suckage quotient". It could have a small suckage quotient (Measured in "Hoovers" (relatively small)) all the way up to Multi Black Holeage suckage (Huuuggggeeee!!!!).

It's all relative.

(chuckle)

The PSP Littlebigplanet certainly got the short end of the stick. I look at the console version with jealousy. Too bad there will never be a pc version,

I have visited a few grids, but settled down to going to just tow-InWorldzz and Second Life. I value both for different reasons. People pick the grids that suit them. That doesn't mean that every time a person brings up a grid that was their choice that they are putting down all the others. It's not a contest, though some people seem appear to think it is. It reminds me of the schoolyard thing of "If you're my friend you aren't allowed to be their friend too-or you're a traitor". I would have hoped most people had outgrown that sometime around middle school.

I spend most of my time in IW, however I also head on over to SL for some driving and general exploration for the fun of it. Each has their charms and problems just like any other grid.
