Just a heads up that for some people their name tag/title above their heads are displaying personal info- Real Names etc in Blue Mars under the latest release.

Whether this was an issue with individuals registration or a glitch at the AR end is not clear.

It may not be the case for everyone but my own name was NOT what I expected.

Yea, I saw that last night. The name displayed was the one I assumed was a personal key. I hope they change it to display the avatar name instead.

*shrugs* I understand a lot of folks like anonymity online, but I have to say it's not one of those things that bothers me overmuch. Perhaps I'm not cautious enough, but there is this thing in the back of my head that says anonymity allows a certain amount of dishonesty. On the other hand, it would be nice for there to be an obvious opt out for that particular display. It's one thing to have it in the avatar profile if someone goes to check, but it's another to have it rather plastered right out there.

They went from having no name displayed in the previous version, to having the wrong name displayed in the current one :-) its a half step forward. They should have it fixed in the next update.

<--- waiting for the release notes for the Blue Mars Developer kit that came out yesterday to find out what *else* has been changed. At least now my kit and the player client are in sync so I can test in player mode. Meanwhile, pretty pictures:
