Worlds In Motion

Another one bites the dust...

Shutting down within a week, due to not being able to raise funding round.

Thought this was a virtual world with its own personality, cool (imo) 3D cell shaded graphics & style...although not being able to create any of your own content was a pretty limiting factor.

Did anyone else try it out?

I played with it a few times. It was fun to poke at for a little while but there was no real depth to it.

Look to see a lot of these "see we're Second Life tooooo" worlds without any content creation go out of biz in the next year.

These idiots never got it.

Well I guess in the current economic climate people are not going to spend money on virtual worlds unless they offer something very different, and yes people are bored with just 3D IM chat programs which many are...will be interesting to see how it goes this year and how many can survive.

This is why you need my website to keep track of it for you.

Very big list of 3D Virtual Worlds
http://arianeb.com/more3Dworlds.htm

(yes I removed vside and its sister VW VLES which also recently closed.)

PS These things have a way of balancing themselves out. vside closes just at http://onverse.com/ opens.

Interesting that it failed so quickly. Wasn't it an endeavor by an SL content creation group? I want to say Rivers Run Red or Electric Sheep--could have swore I read about it on one of their blogs, but I don't remember.

vSide still going

I just joined it a week or so ago and it was there and working. It was bought out by Exit Reality - that was what I heard...
